The writing style of this book was very unique and I am a sucker for shorter chapters. The short chapters make it hard to put the book down and I was pretty impressed with the easy transitioning between each chapter.
The story line was great and clearly had a end goal. I do think the ending was a little more rushed than the rest of it. I also appreciate the epilogue. I was curious as to what happened to the earlier characters.
This could be a spoiler I guess technically (but it is in the book's description so not really) but just in case skip over this paragraph if you aren't wanting to see it... I think that the fact he went to work for "Crisp's Copy Centers" with the last name "Crisp" and no one questioned it much was a little far fetched. The manager did ask him if there was any relation but he said no and the manager just took his word for it? Especially weird since in the beginning of the book one of the characters said how unique the last name was.
Overall a feel good story that honestly makes you pretty happy to just be reading the book and really feel grateful for what you have. The author does a great job of putting a great message into the book and definitely deserves kudos for that.

this book has a chrismast theme to it. i am expecting a tear jerking story. instead i found bland, dry narrating story. the plot is simple and entertaining. but it does not develop well.
luke is a robot. no emotion at all. other character just as bland as luke. toward the end of this book, everything just becomes flat.
for the story i give it 3 stars. it just missing execution writting.

Lost December by Evans_ Richard Paul
Diary entries tell the story of Luke and how he finished college, night of graduation party one of his best friends die
His father wants to bring him into the firm but Luke has other plans.
Luke decides he and his girl need ot travel Europe because his friend would never get the chance. His other friends come along also and Luke pays for them all as Shawn is trying to work out his money problems.
Travel is great and the bills amounted to so much more than I can even imagine. Things fall apart and then he learns of his fathers health and retiring and he's been disowned.
After getting beat up a man rescues him and gets him a place to stay and work... He takes a job at his father's copy center and meets a regular person with a child and he befriends them..
Misunderstandings and things go the wrong way for everybody but maybe Luke can fix it?
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

This modern retelling of the prodigal son story reads like a Hallmark Christmas special. So, this time of year, it worked, albeit predictably.

Perfect light reading for this time of year. I loved this retelling of the Biblical story the prodigal son. Loved how it shows how low you can go and how you can rise up again.

Definitely not my favorite by this author. A modern retelling of the prodigal son but not the greatest. Also, I think it could have been better with a different narrator. RPE is an excellent writing but he needs to let someone else do the narration.
