I'm not really sure what to say about this book. Or its prequels. Generally I love BDSM but these just felt a bit hollow.

Breathless.

That is the single word I can use to describe this book; this series for that matter. I adored every inch of what I read of Molly and Mephisto. It was both a torturous journey and tragic at times. I understood Molly, because at one time in my life I was that girl. Reckless, destructive, impulsive, and out of control. I let things get to me that normal people wouldn’t have. I felt worthless and unlovable. All these things Molly feels. A woman trapped in a world where she felt unworthy and unlovable, I wanted to hug her and tell her it was going to be ok. Her grief ripped me in two. I had tears more times in this book, then a lot of books I have read. I laughed and felt so much joy. This is the love story for the masochist in all of us. It was an adventure of the heart, soul, and mind. I can’t really put into words what this book did for me. It is hard to review a book I loved this intensely.

It is not just the story, but the writing is connecting. I feel into the world, and I was watching. An invisible figure following around these characters; their troubles and fears, their love and lose. God, I feel in love, in lust, and in heartache. Annabel didn’t miss a beat. I could tell, that in her heart, she knew these characters, and she bleed out their story on the page for us. These were characters invented in HER mind, and she gave us a gift. Without this story, I would have felt incomplete. I would have forever been trolling in the hopes she would give us more Molly and Mephisto. I have to say, I like Molly the Molly better than Molly the slavegirl 24/7. She was an engaging woman, that if she lost that part of her spirit, she would have felt forever incomplete.

What a journey, what a incredible story. I can’t tell too much without giving the game away. All I will say, in hopes that Ms. Joseph reads this. The labor scene and the ‘dubious consent’ roleplay were by far my favorite! Got and it even gave me ideas! I don’t read stories again very often. I just don’t have the time with my ever growing list of books to read. But this series, I plan on reading to my husband at night. He likes when I read to him, and this is up next. I have told him, and I told him he will recognize a little bit of use in Burn For You. Because there is so much of me in Molly, and finding the balance in someone like me, that would thrive in a TPE, but doesn’t want to lose the ‘fiery’ personality.

I will say. Thank you Ms. James. To me, as a masochist, this book was like a gift. And thank you for your after thoughts at the end of the book. It made me tear up and want to thank you personally if I could.

Dang! And I thought the first book was emotional!

Mephisto gets his wish to take care of Molly again. But not exactly the way he expected. Does he have the patience this time around?

Molly falls back to her old ways, and holds the world at bay while blaming the world in general, for everything. Lashing out at Mephisto she learns that everything in life isn't what you expect.

This couple worked for me in the first book, Molly still pissed me off, and Mephisto makes me grimace in some of the scenes. If you've read the first one, you have to read this.

I really enjoyed this book. It was great to see Molly grow as a human being. It also makes you very sad in many places. It some ways it reminds me of [b:The Reluctant Dom|6088255|The Reluctant Dom|Tymber Dalton|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1355833522s/6088255.jpg|6265175] by [a:Tymber Dalton|2704714|Tymber Dalton|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1303590802p2/2704714.jpg], though I think that The Reluctant Dom is way better, this one is still pretty good.

You have to enjoy the full-time M/s dynamic. Molly is very hardcore with her husband Clayton, which you know if you read the first book.

I don't hand out 5 stars lightly! The problems I had with the previous novellas were dealt with wonderfully in this book. These characters were real and human and interesting and complicated. I was drawn in and this story didn't let me go until I finished!

Mephisto is a fascinating hero. He's strong and intelligent but he's also flawed and he grows. Same with Molly, who started out much like she'd been in the prequels and had more growing to do than anyone else. Her struggle was real and I sympathized with it.

I loved the evolution of their relationship. Every bit of it. I would heartily recommend this book to anyone... that's saying something as I don't generally go for 24/7 Master/slave relationship stories.

Okay. Am I a perv for enjoying this? hahaha. So, while I may not have Molly's ultra high kink tolerance (maybe a little yeah lol) Okay, seriously, I liked how this turned out. It was a good sequel, it delved deeper into Mephisto and Molly's emotions, and I like how Molly went through that rollercoaster of emotions because well, it made her more human and more relatable. The conflicting emotions really made this better than the first part. Poor Elliot, though...

First off, ARGH, CLAYTON, YOU LYING BASTARD WHYYYYYY?! I KNEW I WAS RIGHT NOT TO LIKE YOU.

Okay, hiding the fact you were a ticking timebomb and would inevitably die was a dick move, albeit heavily foreshadowed. BUT HOW DARE YOU LIE ABOUT MOLLY'S FERTILITY?! DID YOU NOT SEE THE CONSEQUENCES, YOU DICK FACE?!

/takes a few deep breaths

Burn for You is the conclusion to the Molly/Mephisto saga, and if you were reading between the lines of the first two books, Clayton's death will not come as a great surprise. Even though it does for Molly and Mephisto.

So I had kind of guessed the inevitable would happen and then this book would be about Molly and Mephisto getting together.

What I did not expect was for Molly to go COMPLETELY OFF THE RAILS. I mean, bloody hell, girl. Clayton handled the whole thing completely wrong, seriously. I commend Mephisto for not giving up on you, despite the abuse levelled at him in the first third of the book. Seriously, I was speechless. Poor Mephisto (I never thought I'd say that).

The best thing about this book was the character growth. Both Molly and Mephisto change and grow as characters throughout the novel, for the better, I believe. We see more of Mephisto's lighter side (and Molly does too), and we see the old Molly that Mephisto fell in love with a long time ago.

And, you know what, I also loved Eliot. I am happy he was not vilified or made into a complete asshole; he was just so kind, and caring and gentle.
I am glad Mephisto hid his jealousy well enough to allow Molly to explore a non-kinky relationship and discover for herself that that really didn't work for her.
He was someone Molly really needed in her life, despite everything, and I'm glad for him.

I was completely not expecting the fun side of Mephisto, but OH MY GOD. THE ROLEPLAY. If you can keep a straight face through that scene, I take my metaphorical hat off to you.

And the baby! MY WARM FUZZY METER WAS EXPLODING WITH JOY AT HOW CUTE A COUPLE MOLLY AND MEPHISTO WERE!!!

Despite my rage at Clayton, oh my god.

I think, by the end of the novel, Molly and Mephisto are quite unrecognisable from the characters they were at the beginning of the series. This, in my opinion, is a good thing. They were both damaged and unhappy in their own ways, and I was so happy for the happily ever after. They deserved it. (Though it took me a long while to warm up to Molly, I eventually did. That's a sign of good writing!)

The series is worth it just for this book, I swear. I liked Club Mephisto and I enjoyed Molly's Lips, but I LOVED this one. :) This could probably be read as a standalone (the backstory is explained enough), but I think it is probably better read in the context of the other books in the series.

I like the way this series wrapped up, for the most part.
