Ugh, this series... dang, I loved it and want more. I need an update. I'm really glad she added the Author's Note at the end... it helped a little since I was kind of upset. Lol. I didn't love the format of this book at first with the Past and Now flip flopping.... it grew on me though, as I should have known it would. If A. R. Torre writes another in this series, I will cheer and get it as soon as possible. I highly recommend checking this series out. :)

I honestly didn't like this book. I was so excited to read it once I read the description. Deanna in jail? Is it because of what she did in the last book? Did she hurt someone? Too many questions!

But the book has one of the things that I absolutely try and avoid, and that's flashbacks. If it' 2 or 3 flashbacks, I don't mind. But when every chapter alternate between present and past? Nope, I lose interest. And that's how this book was.

It's one of these books that are "it's not you, it's me" kind of situation. I will try listening to the audiobook, and hopefully it might pique my interest again.

I probably would not recommend this book. It wasn't as exciting as the other books and it feels like it never truly wrapped up for Deanna. I feel she needed some comeuppance. It was just a weird trilogy in general and I don't think it was worth it for me. It is a very surface level series, and they tried to go a bit deeper in this book and it fell flat for me.

While it enjoyed it, it left me feeling sad and a bit dissatisfied. It is a bittersweet feeling, on one hand I like where it ended and on the other hand I wanted more.

Just two questions. When will the next book come out? And, Can it be released, like, today?

I think this book is my favorite one in this series.

This series was just fun, and I loved it. According to the author's note, there might be more, but as of right now, that's it! I do think it will be interesting to see if the author touches on the lockdown in the next book, and how it would affect Deanna as a recluse. We shall see!

Deanna Madden is a lot like Dexter Morgan. Definitely a serial killer with those strong urges to kill, but with a tad more humor and a lot more eroticism. Her days as a Cam Girl have dwindled down and she is spending more time with Jeremy and "normal" things. But is she "normal"? Will she ever be capable of Sunday dinners, children, and all the things Jeremy wants?

From the start, she has always been a likable character, and her victims did horrendous things. You never really want her caught, so when she finds herself behind bars, the plot of If You Dare becomes more mystery than the psychological thriller of her previous books. Why are the police questioning her? Who is the victim? And is our favorite anti-heroine really going to spend life behind bars? I absolutely loved this series and her character. The tone changed in the final book - less erotic, less a race to save those she loves or avenge others, and more introspective about who she is, what she has done, and her need to punish herself. Still a great read but not as enjoyable as the first two books.
