As far as Stephanie Plum novels go, I'm giving this a four. Of course, that translates into, like, a 2 or a 2.5 when in context with the rest of my reviews. Perhaps because we did this one in short bursts, I enjoyed it more. The guy with the exploding taxidermy animals was really funny and weird, especially when he went on a semi-date with Grandma. The end was a little abrupt and arbitrary, even as far as Stephanie Plum novels go.
Spoiler
Um, Stephanie's locked in a room without a phone. Outside, bad guy with flamethrower accidentally sets himself on fire, dies. Stephanie finds phone that was there all along and calls for help. The end. Okay.

In the thirteenth installment of Stephanie Plum, this time Ranger asks Plum to put a listening device close to her ex-husband Dickie. Stephanie can hardly control her animosity towards him and manages to just long enough to plant the bug, then throttles him before stealing his desk clock. Shortly thereafter, Dickie disappears and not surprisingly Stephanie is the prime suspect. Morelli, Stephanie's on-again-off-again boyfriend, is a cop and knows it wasn't her but has to go through normal police procedure. Stephanie wants to take matters in to her own hand, which will involve destroyed cars and danger.
This book didn't have as many moments where I found myself laughing but it was still lots of fun. Though I really do wish that Morelli and Stephanie would make their "thing" a little more official and grow up a bit. These books also need more Bob. He's the cutest dog ever!

Yay....the Stephanie Plum books are getting good again. Ten and Eleven were kind of dry but Thirteen was right on track again. Can't wait to read the rest.

Things get personal for Stephanie Plum when her ex-husband Dickie Orr goes missing. She is a suspect in his disappearance, so she starts looking for him to clear her name. Good mix of familiar characters in this Plum outing. I think the series is at it's best when Stephanie is hunting someone for personal reasons vs. her bounty hunter duties.
Another fun Stephanie Plum book read by Loreli King. I laughed out loud at the fuzzy bombs.
