This book was obviously trashy, and I laughed because it was funny. The whole books obviously has every YA trope that I don't like, but it was still funny. The only reason I finished it is becuase the main character was nice, and could have gone place. But guess what? she is a stubborn headstrong woman, so she makes some dumb decisions. But this books was still entertaining.
Will I finish this series? maybe.

Since I read The 5th Wave I’ve been wanting to read more books about aliens and because this series was having a lot of hype I decided to give it a chance. I am very surprised by how much I enjoyed this book and even though I only give him 3.5 stars the story was very funny and engaging and it was one of those light reads that just feels good to be reading despite not being very spectacular like GoT (just for you to know what I mean).
The first thing that came to my mind during the reading was that this book reminded me a lot of Twilight. Instead of vampires we have aliens, the main characters, Katy and Daemon, are not so annoying and I really like the relation between them and the story itself is not so irritating and melodramatic and depressive like Twiligh despite the base scenario being exactly the same.
Katy and Dameon have a love/hate relationship and every time they’re together they are always “discussing” and I found that hilarious. Daemon is super sarcastic (and it kind of reminded me of Jace and Will) and temperamental but that didn’t bother me at all; Katy, besides having a book blog which I think it’s awesome, is very sassy and funny and I really liked her. The other characters were ok and I liked all of them.
The only down side of this book for me was the lack of action. This book has only two or three parts with something more exciting that made my heart beat a little faster and at some points of the book I got a little bored. To me the best thing about Obsidian is Jennifer’s writing style. The writing is really good and it makes the reader keep reading nonstop and always wanting to know what’s going to happen next.
In conclusion I really enjoyed this book and I’m definitely going to continue with the series!

Twilight minus vampires plus aliens minus nostalgia equals Obsidian.
"I was trying everything to keep you out of this, but you had to go and ruin all of my hard work."
okay, this is so weird. Daemon doesn't even like her. and all his hard work?? please, man, you're overexaggerating. he's such a douche. just like the David I knew.
"You look like the star atop the tree."
yeah, the best pick-up line you've got? Daemon is a bipolar horrible person. no, alien. he should be locked up in the asylum.
Before I could even respond, Simons backpack had flown off his desk, scattering its contents across the floor as if someone had swept his arm across his desk. Red-faced and confused, Simon had been successfully distracted by laughing class while he gathered up his notebooks and scattered pencils.
this is ridiculous! WTF would laugh at people when their things fall onto the floor. Can anybody explain this to me? Why is this amusing?
sorry Sasha, I need to disagree with you on this one. I don't like any characters in this story. and Daemon Black? No, THANKS! I hate him. What the hell is wrong with him? Being near him would be a torture!
I don't get why the ranking of this book is so high this is so boring.
