I read this because I want there to be more lesbian werewolf novels, so first I decided to read what's out there - which is, not a lot.
This book was frustrating. Usually, I like the "we both want to but we can't!" kind of angst but, this was just annoying. The # of folks who are like "You need release! let someone help you! but stay away from X" or "I want what's best for you because we're pack but also let me stop you from doing anything good for you" - eh, I'm not describing this right, but basically the characters main arguments were just saying one thing and doing the opposite and fighting that out over and over and over again. Not super fun to read, because it didn't really make sense, so instead of feeling dramatic conflict or internal conflict in the characters you're just like "wait, what? you literally just said the opposite of that... huh?"
Anyway.

had to add to the DNF pile. i got a little over halfway through and just couldn't stomach it. no real plot, and nothing really made a whole lot of sense. weak world building as well. don't get me wrong i love a good fantasy series, eapecially if it's sapphic but this was not it.

3.5 Stars - Audible version - excellent narration - the constant urge to f*** gets to be a bit much
So this is my second listen of the this book. I remember listening the first time and really liking it while it also made me a bit uncomfortable. I feel the same way the second time but I think as the book progressed it made me roll my eyes a bit more. Once you get into the book, maybe about the 40% mark it really starts to get a bit ridiculous with the amount of (I am about to get super graphic. you have been warned.)
I would also say the wolf-were's anatomy is g!p adjacent. I don't mind g!p content at all, i think it can be hot as hell, but the way the wolf-were clits are described they sound like little penis' with "shafts" and "heads" but still called clits... I dunno. I wish the author just embraced the idea and took it all the way and had Sylvan walking around with the biggest dick in the Pack. She definitely exuded enough BDE to need custom made pants. Ha!
If you are in the mood for vampires and werewolves and a lot of barely controlled sex frenzy then dive on in. This is the book and the series for you!

throbbing clits, pulsing neither regions, pheromones, sex frenzy talk, mating frenzy talk, fur sprouting down folk's abdomens, everything makes everyone horny, all the characters want to fuck or fight or both CONSTANTLY.I would also say the wolf-were's anatomy is g!p adjacent. Soooo much throbbing!! Its like reading a story about drunks drinking. What's the point? Rinse repeat. Nothing special, again, again, and again till it was numb.

I loved the whole series so far. I think the aggression is enthralling and i love the biological drama and what it brings about. Personally, i think the sex is hot but can definitely see how it can make some folks feel, well, dirty lol. Overall, its an enthralling read.
