Short smutty novel with some heavy topics. Might not have read this if I had read the trigger warnings beforehand, but overall well written and the spice is

The beginning of my obsession with Viano Oniomoh. An absolutely adorable and sweet erotic romance between a woman and the demon she makes a deal with.

I was thoroughly impressed with this little novella. It gave story, it gave spice, it gave emotional development. It was more well rounded than a good majority of longer spicy novels on the market nowadays. The spice was well written. A pretty dang good book!
Graphic: Rape, Violence
Sweet vengeance indeed.
If someone told me how many romance books about demons I would've been reading in my John Green phase I would've laughed at you and continued planning my Looking for Alaska-inspired tattoo (I didn't get this tattoo don't worry).
Although there is a more serious undertone to this book (check CW), I found that the playfulness between our two main characters to be so enjoyable. When we did get a look at some of the trauma it was handled exactly how it should've been, in my opinion. I thought the detail about the deal a human has to make with a demon was smart and Malachi's involvement in what Joy's plans were was nothing but supportive.

5 ⭐️ The best paranormal/monster romance novella I've ever read!
Female Revenge stories are not my usual type of read. I'm so absolutely aware that the world is unfair and downright abusive towards women, that I don't like to insert myself in those kinds of narratives when they're fiction. If I wanted to wallow in the fact that the patriarchy is ruining our lives, I'd watch the news.
But this book... I'm sure it's just because it has a hot af demon in it, but I could read a thousand iterations of this story and never get bored. I just know it. I loved Joy, her strength, resilience and desire to take down the man that S.A. her. She's flawless. There are so many TW to be taken into account before reading this book that it can seem a bit overwhelming. I'm so glad I pushed through them, though. Also, I'm pretty sure I enjoyed this book because she manages to get said revenge. Real life is absolutely not like that.
Another thing I adored here is that this novella takes place in Nigeria, and it's written by a Nigerian author. It felt so amazing to read and get glimpses of the life, culture and traditions. I really do need to find more books set and written by authors outside of America and Europe. I usually end up loving them!
Sometimes all I really need is to read books about women becoming unhinged and stealthily plotting the murder of their r*pist with the help a demon... only for them to then falling in love with said demon. What can I say? Malachi was perfect!

I finished Sweet Vengeance in ~24 hours of getting it. I was absolutely hooked from page one and it held my attention the way through.
This was recommended to me as a book with a revenge plot and YES! It was everything I wanted/needed. And the fact Malachi appreciates Joy's blood lust? Amazing.
This was MUCH spicier than I expected. Reading the blurb, I thought it was romance not erotica. Surprise! That's not something I seek out so I can't comment much on the quality of those sections but the focus on consent and Joy reclaiming herself was very good.
Definitely take a look at the content warnings before reading, every heavy topic is beautifully handled but it does touch on things that could potentially be very triggering.
