I thought it was rather good, though not what I expected. I was expecting a happy Harry Potter style story where Cameron learns to use her powers and in the meantime helps fight off the bad guys. Right away I was shocked with a murder taking place right in the beginning. As she learns more about the people who took her in to train her powers and the SPI they say are after their kind, there become more and more questions. I found myself unable to put the book down for about the last quarter of the book, wondering along with her what was going on and if she'd be able to escape.

*spoilers*

I was sad that Aaron had succeeded in wiping her mind at the end, but at least she now has a good relationship with her grandma and life seems to be good. There even is the hint of her getting back with the people she met in the next book, as Maddox just showed up. Though of course this time she'd be with SPI who, based on what she learned about Aaron's group, appears to actually not be the evil one.

Meh...

I sadly was stalled on this book a few times since it became quickly popular among my family where I felt like I needed to fight tooth and nail to keep this book until it was finished. Worst part was that a relative bought the second book which took even longer to get ahold of because it was hard to put down. I love this series makes you able to see both sides of such a power as the main character and Lori wrote it so well I was able to feel the struggles the character's went through until the last page. One word, Amazing!

I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this book. It sticks true to paranormal romance plot lines, but was a nice side-step around the typical paranormal characters with mind readers.

Good

I liked that this didn't turn into a super hero thing like I thought it was going. The end gave me mixed feelings. I liked the new setting and how things changed for the better but the last bit about Maddox seemed a bit overdone or like there should be a sequel. Is there?

Hmmm...let me see...this book would be everything I hate, if I didn't read Insanity before TMR and hated it... that's why I liked TMR.

Don't get me wrong, the characters were okay, the storyline too... the climax at the end of the book was great! Didn't expected it :) But, things were predictable, because they've been already seen. But I recommend it, because I have a feeling the sequel will rock.

UPDATE: I wanted to give it 3 stars, but I will give it 4, because now I have seen that this book was released 2010, when all the other books with this similar content weren't even published.

Cameron can read minds, she thinks she is the only one. Then Lewis shows up and she realises there are more people out there like her. These people may also be connected to her dead Father, but is she really safer with them than with her Grandmother?

Lots of intrigue going on here, and it ends with a hook into the second book. There are a few things that I wish we had a bit more of. A Young Adult read

DID NOT FINISH

I tried very much to read this book. I got it for free, and ya paranormal romances are one of my favorite things.

This book suffers from an undeveloped main character who hates everyone around her, including her guardian grandmother and her supposed best friends. The only person she has any affection for is the new boy in town, Lewis.

The books writing mechanics are abyssal. There is a misuse of a words every fifty pages or so. The world-building is barely there and inconsistent when it shows up. For instance, the narrator claims that the popular girl's habit of dressing fashionably was lost on their small high school. Then a few chapters later, the narrator describes the school as fashion-conscious. The world seems warped to be everything the narrator hates, so I ended up reading 70 pages about how the main character was so much more enlightened than everyone else. It got boring and aggravating very fast. I'd just reread my 11th grade journals if I wanted that. (And while YA is supposed to be about teen angst, it's also supposed to tell a story, and this story is too shitty to save it).

Last, the writing isn't at all descriptive. I have no idea what most of the characters look like or any notion of the setting other than it's Cape Cod-like. What a lazy comparison for this author to make. She told me the ocean was there, but never proved that it existed.

OMG! This story was so good. I found Cam a bit annoying at times though and I was so frustrated at the thing that happened in the end. at the end I thought Lewis was going to come for her but when the guy said sweetheart I knew it was maddox, seriously! I need the next one because I need to know what happens! !!!!!!!
