Marin's life is falling apart from her relationship status to her law career, and now a woman contacts her claiming that she's her long-lost half-sister. What else could go wrong? With nothing left to lose, she embarks on a road trip with said sister to uncover the truth.

The book takes many twists and turns and introduces us to a group of characters who may or may not be family members. What secrets could they all be hiding? You'll find out amid the lively beach resort of Provincetown, Massachusetts.

In this novel, you'll discover plenty of romance, never-before divulged secrets, and tragic scenarios. The stories are not stunning, but they'll keep you engaged and entertained while you're vacationing at the beach or just sunning yourself in the backyard.

It's a quick read with characters you'll like and occasionally get frustrated with. Of course, some storylines seem a little far-fetched, but it's the nature of the beach read, so just take it for what it is. It's fun and set in an exciting beach locale that will make you long for summer, especially since summer right now is coming to a definite end.

If you need a non-serious beach read with drama and romance, pick this up for a little pick-me-up.

An enjoyable, easy read. Somewhat predictable. A bit unbelievable, but I love when everything works out in the end.

A good summer read. Set mainly in Provincetown in the summertime, it follows the developing relationships of two young women who find their biological connections through an online DNA service - as well as their extended families and the neighbors in Provincetown. It was interesting without being too deep or difficult (though there are some hard subjects touched on here) and very summery.

Marin Bishop is 29 years old, she has a career as a lawyer, a handsome fiancé, and a wonderful relationship with her parents. When she was initially contacted by Rachel, claiming to be her half-sister, Marian dismissed her. After Marian decides to break things off with her fiancé and loses her job unexpectedly, Rachel’s persistence pays off and Marian decides to travel with her to Cape Cod to meet family she didn’t know she had. These 2 women are very different, but I enjoyed both characters and sympathized with each of them. Amelia, the grandmother, was my favorite. She has a big heart and welcoming arms for both women. There were a lot of characters in this book, but each one was unique and enjoyable. Kelly was another favorite standout. She says it like it is and doesn’t tiptoe around anyone. I really enjoyed this story and will have to check out Jamie Brenner’s other books. Amy McFadden is the perfect narrator for these characters. Her voice is very pleasant.

This was a classic case of people who just do not know how to communicate and thus create various situations which could easily have been avoided by a conversation or two.
