The beginning is super slow and I almost DNF it. I am so glad I didn't, though, because the last bit of the book makes all the difference. Overall I enjoyed it!

A bit slow to begin with but picks up towards the end. Felt a bit like it was setting up for the next book rather than a story in its own right. But the characters are very interesting and I can’t wait to see what happens to them in the next book.

This was AMAZING! I loved it,the more it progressed the better it got, packed with detail without slowing the pace, twists and turns you don't expect I want MORE

Incendiary came with my April Fairyloot box and I decided I needed to read it immediately.

Summary:
Renata is currently a Whisper, a rebel spy working against the crown who kidnapped her as a child for her magical power- the ability to steal memories.

When the boy she loves us taken captive, Renata realises she must complete his mission herself and return to those who once held her captive, but as it stirs the memories she locked away all those years ago, what she will remember could change the fate of the kingdom for everyone.

Review:
Honestly I neither loved or hated it. The writing style was interesting, the story was well written. It did take quite a few chapters for me to fully engage with the story but overall I enjoyed it.

The plot was what I expected, and I followed along having a good idea on where the story was going. It doesnt deliver any major new or unexpected tropes for a YA novel but the story is definitely unique.

The pacing of this story is something I struggled with occasionally and it kept throwing me off. It was either extremely fast or slow with no buffer inbetween which jarred me occasionally, but it was rare this happened.

The character of Renata was interesting, and I enjoyed learning her backstory. Although there were times when she infuriated me with repetition, she was developed well throughout. The additional side characters were all interesting and I am hoping they will be seen more in the sequel.

The worldbuilding was really good, I really enjoyed learning about the kingdom and I hope to read more about it in the sequel.

Overall:
A good YA read if you want something that has revolution, magic and the importance of memories at the core of the story.
