A story filled with drama? Totally. A thriller? Welllll.... I didn’t get that vibe until the last 30 pages of the book. It was definitely one of the less intense thrillers I’ve read, if you’re into that. I thought this was okay, but nothing spectacular that I’ll be able to recall a little while from now.

Honestly i felt like this dragged on. We get beautiful imagery from Hawkins yet again, and while i found the twist to be a nice surprise i just didn’t really vibe with the pacing so by the time i got to the end i was over it. I still found all the characters to have decent development, but overall I just felt like this plot was missing some oomf somewhere along the line. Similar to The Villa, there was almost too much tension between all the characters the entire time and i just felt frustrated. That said, I will continue to look for thrillers from Hawkins.
