Listened to it as an audio book. Entertaining enough for long drive where could pick up easily when needed to stop.

Someone mentioned this author on Happily Ever After group. I decided to check her out. I'm glad I did. This book was funny & sexy. I read it in two days.

Hmm Ben was great. Molly was infuriating. I found her to be really immature and I just didn’t buy into her reasons for not telling Ben about Cameron. Ugh! I was very mad. I feel like I needed a bit more from the HEA.

sigh. its time to review this series. this was the best out of the three, i have to say. the biggest downfall of this entire series was the mcs jumping into bed together in the third chapter. this one followed ben and maddy? mandy? anyway, he's a cop and she's a romance author who writes smut under a pseudonym. and that's the entire conflict. what saved this story was the stalking/mystery aspect that we got, especially the plot twist that lowkey i did not see coming.
Spoileri thought her ex-boyfriend was supposed to be the distraction and then that second-in-command officer was the real stalker, but no, it was in fact her ex
anyway, this was good for a quick read. too insta-lovey for me, but i enjoyed the writing, the humor, and the small-town vibes. don't think that this is one i would want to re read in the future tho.

I was about a quarter of the way through when I realized I had read this one already (pre-goodreads, I guess!) I do like Dahl and will continue with this series.

Interesting audio.

Talk Me Down had a bit of a mystery in it. It had it's fair share of crazy people who liked to stalk.. because what romance book doesn't? Molly and Ben were such an adorable couple. Their chemistry and their past was what intrigued me. I wanted to know about it and then I always really wanted some good honest smut between the two. Which, I totally got by the way.

Now Molly has a pretty big secret that no one in her life knows about. It has to deal with her job and all that jazz.. which is kind of weird that she doesn't want anyone to know. But hey, it's not my life! What's her mysterious job? Well, she is a smutty author. She's pretty good at it and people love her books. However, once this little dirty secret comes out.. eh, Ben isn't her biggest fan.

HOWEVER, all of that happens after all of the juicy smut and relationship building going on between these two. Oh and then there's the whole issue of the stalking and her creepy ass ex boyfriend. God, I just wanted someone to sucker punch him in the balls.

In the end, these once high school crushes became an actual item. I loved it and I really enjoyed how this book ended. I had no idea that there was more than one stalker in their lives.. but I was very happy with how everything played out.

Ben's obvious crush makes this book adorable and sweet. But the best part about this story is how the author tackles the shame and shunning that comes from most communities (modern ones mostly) towards a person who enjoys reading or writes romance for women. I mean, God forbid women enjoy a genre that has them as a lead, doesn't stereotype them, and allows them to express themselves sexually. It's okay if a male author writes a really shitty sex scene, you applaud his 'honesty' then, but for some reason it absolutely irks everyone if women write realistic sex scenes and the love lives of women. So, thank you for addressing that. The attitudes for romance novels are changing, but there is still work to be done. Also, the whole creepy ex thing is something a lot of women deal with. The men involved can very charismatic most of the time and the victim is left to deal with the consequences of that. That is a big part of this story, and what the protagonist goes through is harrowing because it is something that has happened to you at one point, or someone you know.

Plot:

Molly Jenkins left town 10 years ago, and now she is back thanks to a creepy stalking ex. For 10 years she has been thinking about Ben Lawson, and this time she wants him. But someone still stalks her, the newspaper is gossiping about them, and Ben wants to know what her big bad secret is.

My thoughts:

I do not know how I do it but there is always one genre that I seem to read a lot of in a month, and this month that genre is contemporary romance. It has been a fun month.

I have wanted to try her books for a while now, and thanks to the lovely Stacy I had the chance to. It was fun, smart and sexy.

Molly was fun, sassy, and naughty when it comes to Ben. She has been lusting over him for a long time, and she sure is not afraid to go after what she wants. Poor guy does his best to not be tempted. But these two were bound to end up together, and it does not take long either. Lots of romance and passion there.

There was also something I did not expect, ok yes I read the word stalker, but it was so much more. Who was the stalker really? Things got complicated and dangerous because someone truly did not want her in town. But all this suspense Molly tried to joke away with her humour. Kind of liked that.

Recommendation and final thoughts:

Indeed a good contemporary romance, and it made me want to read the next one where Molly's friend finds love. What can I say, sweet, romantic, dangerous and passionate. She does write books for a living so she is not afraid to speak her mind.
