Loved Erin and Brendan but sometimes I wanted to slap Brendan on the face for all the stuff he did (or didn’t do)! Also Rob is a menace!!
i was so excited to start this while reading waking olivia but i have to be honest it was a tad disappointing. it started off really good and it had a lot of potential but right when they started getting together it just lost its spark. i think the main problem was never getting to see brendans pov in the present for 90% of the book, while i’m happy that his character had development through the past timeline i think it should’ve been less chapters of that and more present brendan.
also erin was probably one of the dumbest fmc i’ve ever read about, and i generally don’t mind miscommunication but here.. god it was tough.
anyway regardless of these things i liked it, and i devoured it and i rooted for them so much so thats that

I really did bot enjoy this book half as much as I wanted to. One of the review questions is about character flaws... This whole book is based on the absolutely massive flaws of all of the characters. Throughout the book i wanted to punch both Erin and Brendan for various reasons, but mostly because of their inability to fucking communicate in any way that wasn't sex.
If brendan had forced a conversation 4 years ago this wouldn't even be a book ... I know that's bot the point but due to one of his huge character flaws this book lasted way longer than it really needed to. And don't get me started on the fact that Erin is nothing but a people pleaser but never finds pleasure for herself.
I know, i really do know that it's fiction and the miscommunication trope happens in 90% of romance books but i read romance to escape into happier lives not to read about people with worse social skills than myself. I do not want to be angry at every single character in a book. I also don't enjoy a ton of introspection like Erin has... Like so fucking much inner monologuing is pointless.
Suffice to say i did not enjoy this at all and wish I'd dnfed it.
Oh well. I'm still hoping to find a book by this author that i will love
