It can be a tricky read in 2025, where it does not have a modern flow. But it is worth persevering to the end, to understand the importance of the text, and the true feeling for the story.
Definitely worth reading something lighter afterwards!

But Orwell himself writes with deep, furious empathy, at times giving us an intimate view of poverty and torture that forces you to feel the injustices committed on paper.
It’s an impressive, exhausting, amazing novel. I feel like I need to almost adjust my other reviews to give this one the rating it deserves.
10/10. Read it if you haven’t.

That being said, it is so boring. Orwells writing drags on for so long, one thing that could be a few sentences becomes two pages and all of a sudden I am asleep.
