3.6 AVERAGE

4,5

I skimmed more than half of this book to try to get it to move along faster. It was somewhat tedious to read through most of it. I found myself angry and frustrated a lot while reading it, not because of the story, but because of the characters themselves. The read overall was a cheesy, but I kind of expected that when I picked this book up knowing that it was originally a fanficton. The story does start to redeem itself during the last third of the book but with over 300 pages I don't know how many people would be willing to wait that long for it to get better. Overall, it was just an okay read, If I were 15 again I could see myself really enjoying it. But regardless of my feelings towards most of this book the last few pages might be enough to make me pick up the next book.

WHAT EVEN...

okay, I'm sorry but this book started so slow and the BAM everything f*cking went down so quickly goddammit.

Okay so...

here's what I liked:
• a character with agoraphobia (representation, yay 😊)
• very easy to get into and through, even though it isn't as suspenseful in the beginning as I would've wished
• interesting way to explore a celebrity's life

here's what I didn't like:
• sometimes it is frustrating to read from Tess' perspective ( as a mentally stable person) because of her mental health issues and how she doesn't make progress very fast (which, I know is realistic and not her fault, still, the description of that could've been cut a little shorter)
• cheesy
• talk about a cliffhanger

I really enjoyed this book, it was SO intense at the end, I couldn't put it down!!!

This book had some good twists and a nice dream scenario kind of vibe with out feeling too perfect to be real, I didn't have many feelings in this book it was more of a "wow okay cool" kinda thing not a "help my whole life just became meaningless" so it's a good read but not an amazing read. I liked the twists, and I didn't see some of it coming, I hated the cliff hanger at the end, so if you are going to read his book I would suggest waiting until next year when book two is out so you can go straight into that. But if you want to avoid the cliff hanger but still read the book there is a nice well rounded ending if you don't read the last chapter which is a final police report. And then if you want to read the next book you can read the final chapter after you have book 2 in your hands ready to be read. Overall I enjoyed it, it was quick, simple but not a very emotional story. It was what every fangirl in existence wishes would happen to them and as a fangirl myself I appreciate that. As someone who has very mild agoraphobia (I can leave the house but I don't generally like to and avoid it at much as I possibly) i can relate to Tessa, and I felt like it was written well in that sense. Not perfect but better than most. Overall if you have the chance to read it do, but I wouldn't go searching it out

Who I would recommend it to: fan girls who enjoy a good fan fiction

I give it 3.5 roses 🌹

I wasn't sure how to feel about this book at first. I started off with little empathy for Tessa, which changed as we went along. I also found that every background character, such as Tessa's boyfriend or her mother or therapist where so completely unlikable and just not at all supportive.

I think the one thing that most bothered me, and why I didn't give five stars, was the description of fangirls. yes they can be scary, but out of all of them i can't believe that only Tessa is special and sees reality. I found that notion dismissive.

At first I didn't realise this was meant to be part of a series because it would have made a good stand alone, although of course now I am curious to see what happens in the next. Because that was quite the cliffhanger we were left with.

I can only guess at who the villain is in the next book. Raise your hand if you think it's
MET aka the creepiest fan to exist

Young Adult and Adult Novels Collide! Fans who enjoyed Her Every Fear and Fangirl will enjoy this novel! It has the perfect amount of romance, realism without it sounding fake, and not to mention mystery, thriller, and suspense!

First and Foremost I did not believe I was going to like this book anywhere close to how much I did. Not to mention I honestly had thought this was a stand alone going in, and while I would have preferred that... but, I can't wait to see where the author takes the story!

I am not a Twitter personal and I was a tad worried this would just be a copy cat of Fangirl By: Rainbow Rowell which I was not a fan of. But oh boy was I wrong!

Not only is this book a fast and easy read, its realistic and absolutely has to be the most realistic contemporary novel I have read in the Young Adult section. He's even on the toilet in one scene! How much more realistic can it get?

The Point of view changes from Tessa to Eric very easily you always know who's narrating without being directly told "Eric's POV" etc.

The layout of the book is like a computer screen when your looking on Twitter which is pretty cool, different, and unique!

I absolutely loved how A. V. Geiger included song lyrics, because she didn't have to and it added far more to the story.

There is a decent amount of light vulgar, I would suggest it to a 13+ year old if they are mature enough not to laugh anytime Eric calls himself a d***** nozzle.

Personally I normally can not stand contemporary novels in YA, they just always seem like they are trying far to hard and are usually a tad unrealistic which completely defeats the purpose of a contemporary novel.

Honestly I'd go around suggesting this novel to everyone, "You like Ya? Here you go.", "You want something similar to fangirl? Here you go.", "You like social media? Here you go.", "Just browsing, here you go.".

If you haven't read it yet I really do suggest giving it a read. I personally loved the book and hope anyone looking to read the book enjoys it as well! But don't expect to sleep if you start this at night! ;)

DID NOT FINISH: 0%

2024 Reread: DNFd at about 10% because I can't stand either character long enough to finish this. Note to self: stop trying to reread past me's favorites, our tastes are not the same and the nostalgia isn't strong enough

Reread this so I can read the sequel and I still love as much as I did the first time! It's a little predictable and I'm not hugely fond of the police reports because I feel they kind of spoil parts of the story, I would personally rather they not be there.
