I love a good feeling friends to lovers. Not to much drama and HEA. Good fluff book

Loved it. Super sweet with a little bit of spice.

What I loved:
1. I still love this family to pieces. Each of the sisters brings a bit of something, and I love them together.
2. Greats secondary cast that creates a home town feel I want to curl up in.
3. Hawke was such a study character and completely different from the average jock hero.
4. I loved the focus on the need for mental health checks for athletes.
5. She set up the next book so perfectly and made me need it!

Second Chance and small town are not my go to tropes, but this one kept me engaged and smiling. I just love the whole standalone series so far.

(Dual POVs)

Immediately, you can feel the pain between these two! We discover fairly quickly that Everly was the one to walk away in the past, but that doesn’t mean that she has been hurting any less than Hawk. Both of these characters’ hearts broke when they separated and neither one of them has been whole since.

Even though Everly was the one to walk away in the past, Hawk still greatly cares for her and realizes that if anyone can bring him out of the funk he’s been in, it’s Everly. He makes sure that she is the one hired for the job and makes sure she has housing set up for her for longer than she’s expected to work for. Even after they reconcile and decide to give things another try, he still does what he can to try to protect her job and her integrity.

There is no doubt in my mind that these two are soul mates. Even though they’ve spent many years apart, their connection they have is still fierce and strong. Just like in the first book, I loved that these characters had a past together because I loved seeing the heartfelt relationships they already had with each other’s families.

I really appreciated the growth we see from Everly, working through her fears and learning from her past. I was a little nervous towards the end, but thankfully, I think everything worked out the way it was meant to be! I cannot wait to read the next one! I’ve been intrigued with Jace and Ashlyn since the first book and I’m dying to see how their relationship develops!

P.S.- I adored the nicknames these two had for each other- Ever mine and Hawky player!

Favorite Quotes:
I’d missed her in a way I couldn’t explain. Like I’d spent the past decade searching for something I couldn’t find. Because I’d already found it. And nothing ever compared after. -Hawk

“Listen, you’re my past and you’re my future. If we have to catch up on the present, I don’t have a problem with that. I want to know everything about you.” -Hawk

not my vibe. Starting off slow but predictable to me and it's not quite catching my attention right now.

Another wonderful book in the Honey Mountain series by Laura Pavlov! Seriously, I'd never read this author before this series and now I am so hooked!

This story is about Everly, the eldest Thomas sister, out of five. She is the one who's had the most difficult time dealing with the death of their mother when they were all younger. So she's been avoiding Honey Mountain and anything that will remind her of her mother for years.

That's also why she broke up with her childhood sweetheart, Hawk Madden, right after her mother died. That, and the fact that he got signed to an NHL team.

Now, as a sports psychologist, she's been hired to help Hawk get back to his love of hockey. Of course, this doesn't come without complications--or fond memories.

Hawk and Everly are such a great couple. There is no doubt of their love for each other after all the years have passed. And the friendship between them is still strong.

One of my favorite parts of this series so far is that the Thomas sisters have such chemistry with each other. They are so funny and so wonderful. You can feel the love between them all.

I am super-excited to read the next story in this fun series!

this one was better than the first prob because i liked the tropes a lot more. it was still a little slow in the beginning but i liked it better near the ending same as the first book. it was nothing life changing, just a cute little quick read to help me get closer to my reading goal.

Ever Mine is a second chance romance between sports psychologist Everly Thomas and her new client and first love, NHL star Hawk Madden. Working closely together causes old feelings to resurface and eventually leads to them having to face what happened in the past while working towards a possible future together.

I liked the discussions of grief, how it affects everyone differently, and the importance of not bottling up your emotions. It was nice to see Everly slowly learn to open up to others and not run away whenever she felt afraid.

I also thought the interactions between Everly and her sisters were sweet.

There were a few things throughout the book that I wasn’t a huge fan of, like the miscommunication/jumping to conclusions, but it was still a cute story.
