I've really been enjoying this series and THROWN TO THE WOLVES is my favorite so far because I finally feel like we really know both Cooper and Park as individuals. Up to this point Park has been a bit of a mystery, helped along by the fact that the series is written only in Cooper's POV. But with this trip home we learn a whole lot about werewolf packs, politics, and the baggage Park has been carrying around. I loved learning about the Park pack, the myth behind the first werewolf, and some interesting background on Park's family.

We've known that Park has distanced himself from his pack but we haven't really understood why until now and it was emotional and heartbreaking. I've been dying for this glimpse into who Park really is, so THROWN TO THE WOLVES finally gave me that deeper understanding of Park that I've been craving. I do think the beginning is a little bit confusing because there's all these things Cooper doesn't know about wolves and therefore we don't know them. Park does everything he can to protect his secrets, mostly out of fear that Cooper won't love the "real" Park. But once this hits about half way things really start to click into place and I think the second half is stronger.

Even when things were rocky, these two were great and I never doubted they were meant to be. I also loved some of the new turns their intimacy took and how Cooper began to find his inner "alpha." I'm really looking forward to the next book!

Favorite Quotes:

"Being open isn't easy for either of us. Shit, maybe not for anyone. But I work on it because, to me, you're worth it. And you know what, Oliver? I'm worth it, too. So pull your shit together so we can get on with being mates and in love and all that trash."

Park rolled them so that he was hovering over Cooper and held his face in his hands. "There’s my porcupine. I didn't recognize you there for a minute, all sensitive."

I loved this one so much! It's definitely my favorite of the series so far. The werewolf pack politics is so interesting. And, again, I love Park and Cooper so much!

I, once again, blasted through this installment, especially once I realized we were going to be meeting Park’s family because holy shit! The drama! I was literally sat up, eating my popcorn as Cooper desperately tries to settle into the flow of the pack, but no one else seems to want that to happen— including Oliver.

Very, very impressed with how Adhara built on Oliver’s character here, especially since we still only see through Cooper’s eyes. Their character work is truly phenomenal and the way these two grow together is just so human. They have their own issue that they have to work on, not only for themselves but also for the good of their relationship and it just feels so realistic! Oliver’s desperation to keep up appearance and protect Cooper is so sweet, but also so unsustainable and I liked the reflection we saw as he realized that. Literally obsessed with how their relationship has been handled in this series. Plus, y’know, a spicy, kinky good time.

This book did lean more heavily on the werewolf elements and the A/B/O dynamics, which I know some people don’t like, but given this series’ world, it also makes perfect sense. (Did just want to slide that comment in for some peoples' comfort. )

The mystery in this one wasn’t my favorite. There are a lot of new characters thrown at you and it was a little hard to follow all of them, their relationships, their wants, and motives. I did like how Cooper was really outside his comfort zone with the very nature of this mystery and seeing how he was still managing to investigate. I do think Adhara wrapped things up in a way that made sense, was satisfying, but also curious as to what was going to happen next.

Already started the next book, because I just love these two dorks and seeing them work out their shit to become the best couple.

I don't think I can adequately explain how much I loved this book. I had high hopes, of course, seeing as the first two in the series were stellar, but it totally exceeded even my expectations. Thrown To The Wolves was not only as fast paced and solidly plotted as its predecessors, it was also emotional, hot, and funny as hell.

Cooper and Park (and Boogie!) embark on the world's worst family reunion when they receive word that Park's grandfather has unexpectedly passed away. As if meeting Oliver's fangy family isn't stressful enough, there are family secrets, murder attempts, ex-boyfriends and wolf hunters to contend with. Plus, Park’s reluctance to share the most intimate and important parts of himself are not only beginning to wear on Cooper, they might actually be putting both men in danger.

I really loved Cooper in this book. He has opened up so much since the beginning of his relationship with Park and I think it’s allowed his sense of humour to really shine. I feel like we’re seeing the Cooper that existed before he was nearly eviscerated by a rogue werewolf. As for Park, let’s just say I was a little angry with him for hiding so much from Cooper, but ultimately relieved and excited for both of them as they dismantled much of the baggage they carried into their relationship.

I’m excited to see where they go from here as they solidify their personal relationship and embark on a new professional one. As Cooper says “what could possibly go wrong?”

Oh, Cooper, you had to go and say that, didn't you. Eeek!

Blitzed through this, really enjoyed getting to meet all the characters in Park's family and learning about their backstories. Also enjoyed the introduction of Eli (and it looks like he gets his own series at some point, so I'll probably check that out as well).

I feel like there are still some loose ends with Stuart and Dr. Freedman (sp?), but maybe they'll come up again in later books?

I did have to lol at the whole
Cooper is Park's alpha thing. Like, in retrospect it actually makes total sense because Park has always been very deferential to Cooper, but I really thought we were gonna mostly avoid the "alpha" talk. It's just so... cringe.
