I'm becoming greedy and curious. I want to know more about the Guild Hunter world and Raphael's Seven. So this novella, although short, was a glimpse into the angel world, the Refuge and how Jessamy, keeper of angel histories, came to find her true love, Galen weapons-master and one of Raphael's Seven. Jessamy was ethereal, wise and almost fragile. Galen was the perfect alpha male, all brute strength, stubborn and protective.

And now I want to know more...

Series: Guild Hunter #0.4
Rating: 4 stars - It was really good

Jessamy is a gentle teacher of the angelic young, a keeper of the people’s histories, and respected by everyone who knows her. Unfortunately, she is unable to take flight and has spent thousands of years trapped in the stronghold of the Refuge. When Galen arrives, he changes everything for her and gives her a chance to soar.

This was a wonderful novella and a great introduction to this world filled with angels. I loved Jessamy and Galen’s slow building relationship. Jessamy has hardened her heart from so many things that are natural for the other angels because of her disability. She doesn’t let anyone close except maybe the kids. Galen doesn’t let her hide from him though. He slowly breaks down her barriers and shows her true happiness.

Galen was a wonderful barbarian. I loved how he took his time courting Jessamy. He never forced her into the relationship and frequently reminded her that she was free to be with others if that is what she wished. He was just a wonderful man and the perfect partner for Jessamy.

I really enjoyed this story and am excited to jump into this fascinating world filled with angels and vampires.

I love the softness and naivety of Jessamy when compared to the rough manliness of Galen.

Galen saw his woman in Jess and went for it with everything, letting his stake be known to those who may wish to try.

Any man that can look past the flaws in a woman and see worth is A+ in my books! I seriously wanted more of them

I actually read this after Angels' Blood, but it was so freaking great to see these characters, and how things worked 400 years ago! So awesome!

I read this one out of sync but who cares?! It was such a sweet story.

Galen and Jessamy's story was hinted at in Archangel's Kiss, while Elena and Raphael were at the Refuge. Now I understand and I am still smiling.
