Received from the publisher via Edelweiss, for free, for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I really love this series. It’s fun and combines mystery, historical fiction, and supernatural elements – three of my favourite things – into one fantastic series.

I was thrilled that this third book in the series focused more on Jenny’s backstory. We learn more about her life, death, and relationship with Jackaby. Additionally, we learn much more about Jackaby himself, including his past and how he came to have ‘the sight’. It was so interesting and definitely left me wanting to read more!

Ghostly Echoes does a great job of connecting the mysteries of each book with a larger overarching story for the series. I’m really looking forward to the next book, which, sadly, I’ve heard is to be the final book in the series. I can’t wait to see how everything will come together for these characters I’ve come to love.

As in the previous two instalments, the writing in this book is just fantastic. There’s humour, but there is also a tinge of melancholy, and weaving the supernatural elements into the story occasionally adds a touch of darkness to it all.

This series is one of my new favourites, and I can’t wait to add Ghostly Echoes to my bookshelf. Highly recommended!

2.75/5 stars

My least favourite in the series so far, and while it looks like I'm giving them low ratings, I actually really enjoy these books and encourage people to read them! This book just felt like too much was happening- think season 4 and the second half of season 5 of Once Upon A Time- and I feel like it lost the mystery-investigation aspect of the first two books that made me love them so much. There's also a surprise!romance that I just don't dig. I enjoy Abigail and Charlie, but the Other romance introduced just don't sit well with me and how the characters involved have interacted in the past. Why can't people just be friends! I'm tired!

However, I love these characters, and I really want to see how this series ends. The conclusion of this book was good and there were parts I didn't expect, which shows that it's still surprising me, and I always love Abigail and Jackaby. There was also a decent amount of Jackaby's history, which I am very grateful for as it's written really well!

The best so far in the series, bringing together the various pieces of each character's history. Love seeing the friendship of Jenny and Abby grow as we learn more of Jenny's story.

3.5 stars ~ enjoyable but not as good as the others. Didn't get my attention as much and some things were obvious. Still, enjoyable enough, a good series.

The Jackaby series has become such a good comfort series to fall back on. I love picking up a fun mystery, especially after a disappointing book, and this time was no exception!

I felt that this installment started a little slow and at first, the sense of danger was almost lost to me. But then again, the exposition is not completely lost; it's a proper start to the story and serves as the introduction for everything else. I just felt like their agency was a little slow when dealing with the matter of Cordelia Hoole early on. The novel starts to pick up about 30% in and then everything starts to come together. Luckily, it's a quick, easy read and I thoroughly enjoyed the end.

This is definitely my favorite one yet! I have really come to love this series. Jackaby, Jenny, and Abigail are delightful!

So far, I've really enjoyed this book series! It's such a fantastical world that I get the pressure of slipping into when ever I get the chance, but this book in particular was absolutely brilliant! I'm nervous because there is only one more book in the series to come-- and quite frankly, I'm not ready for the story to end-- but I can't wait to see what happens next!

Jackaby's definitely become one of my favourite series. I expected a fun, light hearted Sherlock Holmesesque story with magical creatures, but it is so much darker and has much more substance than what I thought it would be. Abigail is an amazing protagonist, she proves it in every single book. She's strong and driven, but she also has her flaws.
I loved learning about Jenny in this book, and seeing the big picture. There are still many questions that need answers and I'm itching to get to Dire King in the near future. I'm also sad for this series to end, as it truly took me by surprise and I ended up absolutely loving it.

5/5 stars!

This book made me so ridiculously, giddily happy! Ritter has the most incredible way with words... I never want this series to end. RTC.

Another good instalment. I love the focus on Abigail and Jenny. They are both great characters and I prefer Jackaby as a secondary character in comparison. I'm excited for when the final book will be released though I'll be sad there won't be even more.
