I liked the first chapter or so but the minute it switched to the dog's perspective, she lost me. corny and childish and honestly too much

I received a review copy of this book, just to set the record straight. I'm not a big fan of the initial book in a series (which if Ms. Shojai's book doesn't sprout into a series it will be a shame). I normally like to start later and then come back for the genesis. Mainly it's probably because of all the heavy lifting the author has to do to get all her characters set up. And the beginning of the novel is a little slow, but I'm going to forgive her for that. The last half of this mystery novel is well-worth the wait. The characters are intriguing and definitely have possibilities for the future. I also appreciate the way the animal behavior info is woven throughout the story without becoming heavy handed. Well done!

Fun and Exciting

For those who enjoy mysteries with a reason, Lost and Found is a good book for you. The characters are genuine and the plot is fast paced. Delving into the autistic community gives the story a purpose.

Shadow the dog was great. So is Macy the cat. Everything else...meh! I may or may not continue to read this series but for now, shelving it. Just got bored with the 2nd book early on, can almost predict the entire novel so for now...setting it aside.

After about three chapters of ... I couldn't stand this and went on to a "cowboy" book (one by B. M. Bower).

After finishing up the "cowboy" book, I thought to give this another try and read a couple more chapters. Bah! I need something that makes some vague sense and something that had a competent editor who would flag things like sudden changes in "voice" without any attribution.

So, what we have is two drama queens (sisters), a prescient dog who takes over the narration from time to time, a severely autistic child, some kind of criminal enterprise preying on parents of children with autism. Probably some other stuff. I didn't bother finishing: it was so awful (I did make it through a third of the book). It wasn't at all clear to me that the author had any sympathy for autistic people. She just treated them as severely deficient people. Perhaps that attitude changes later on. I had no interest in finding out. What a load of crap!

This book was fantastic, really fast paced and suspenseful. I really enjoyed the way the story built up and the main character September was great. The plot was a really gripping one and I got into it very quickly. I liked the fact it got to the main point very fast and the suspense was just write. The Author was also the narrator which can sometimes be a good or bad thing depending on how well they do it. This author was a really good narrator and did the accents very well. It was easy to tell who was who and she made the different characters very distinctive.

I was profoundly disappointed in this book. This book has too many convoluted story lines and the dialogue was poorly constructed with many sappy moments that are nonsensical.
