Suprisingly I liked the second book in this series the best, however, I still liked this one.  The characters were complex and took me thorugh a rollercoaster of emotions.  Did I hate them, pity them, or love them? At times I wanetd to cry with them and at others I needed to set the book down because I was so over them.  I think that's a strong sign in an author to end the book well after it could have gone so poorly and to bring you back around to a charcter you may have lost hope in.  At the beginning of the book the main character Pippa is already deeply traumatized.  She wants to solve just one more case, believing if it is straightforward black and white she will set herself right.  However, as the book goes on, especially in part two, Pippa puts herself more and more in the gray area, and plans change (spoiler altert she somehow has even more trauma now).  Speaking of which this book was interesting in that the part one and part two were very distinct.  Sometimes there isn't a big difference between the parts, but here there were and I was able to reflect on that change throughout since it coincided with Pippa's charcter development.  Overall I enjoyed this book and its trip into the morally gray.

Love the series and I wouldn't say this book was bad, just not as good. Pip didn't even feel like the same person through out most of the book, making very un-pip-like decisions. There was times that I was on the edge of my seat but not nearly as much as the other books. I really, really dislike the ending and feel like it made no sense at all. Pip isn't dumb enough to come up with such a pointless and ridiculous plan. Overall not a bad book, just not amazing either.

There were so many times I stopped reading this book to say "Holly, we need to talk" because I genuinely wanted to know what went through her head to put her readers through the absolute crushing feeling of despair, and what it can come with. For as long as I can remember, I've never cried during a movie or while reading a book (other than The Book Thief ofc), but THIS BOOK GOT ME. As Good As Dead is definitely my favorite out of the entire series, and I've loved seeing how much Holly's writing has evolved from book-to-book. I'll definitely remember--similar to Pip's story--how everything came full circle for me while reading the AGGGTM series: I've just recently picked it up again after over a year since I've first read A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, and I'm so glad I did, because it was definitely worth it.

A good final instalment to the AGGGTM series.

I enjoyed how this book returns full circle to close off the mystery and show how actions can have unintended consequences.

I thought this book was darker than the previous ones, and I didn’t enjoy it as much due to Pip’s actions, however I found the science interesting and liked the fabrication of the alibis and set up.

It was also a bit sad towards the end and I shed a few tears. I also found this book more mature than the previous two, what with Pip’s way of handling her trauma, and the tension and fear for the characters throughout.

I thought it was a really good finale. I liked how it tied back everything from the previous two installments as well as the gradual growth of Pip’s belief of truth and justice. I thought it was interesting how Jackson took on such a complicated subject of who is really evil.
I didn’t like the twist much at first because I had already dismissed him for being too obvious, but it grew on me. I also didn’t expect the last act to start so soon but I couldn’t put it down afterwards.

I did think it was really stupid how Ravi knew about her stalker but never tried to accompany her as she investigated and she kept going on runs. Like the stalker knew where she lived and they knew he resided in Fairview?! Also in hindsight I don’t see how she ever expected to get evidence that the police would believe without meeting DT because the phone was a burner. I really liked Ravi and Pips relationship this book otherwise but it was kind of crazy how he had zero doubts after the murder. I did still like that it ended with her getting away with murder, it shows how far she’s strayed from who she was and is just a fun concept. I was so surprised they managed to pull it off and I knew they’d end up getting Max in the end in the second book when he was in trial.

I actually don’t have as much issue that she killed Jason Bell (as other people do) because despite what she said I highly doubted she would’ve made it alive without assaulting him. The last victim before her escaped as well but he still found and killed her and Pip was trapped in the complex. She would’ve been easily found in the woods imo especially because Jason has a car, more weapons at his disposal and was stronger. I do wish that we spent more time actually discussing her feelings after she was almost murdered by Jason Bell, also surprised that it didn’t tie into the Jane Doe case.
