I was hanging out at the bookstore with my friend the other day when I asked him for some book recommendations (as one does even though their reading list is super long already), and he told me about this book even though he warned me that it's not the usual kind of stuff I read (fiction), but he told me it changed his life so I decided to give it a read anyways. And guess what? It did!
This book completely altered my diet and the way I eat every day. I liked that the first part of the book explains all the science behind the hacks it's about to tell you, and because of the biology I studied in high school, it was a pretty fast read. The hacks are all quite easy to put into action and also fairly easy to remember. I already have a good eating habit, but I've almost completely cut out sugar in my diet now (sometimes still after meals). My only complaint is that the author kept plugging her instagram account in the cases she brought up for the hacks (like I get it! you're @gluccossgoddess, ENOUGH! it worked though, I caved and followed her in the end). I feel like every time I go out with that friend, we're discussing the contents of this book now, and he describes it as if he's converted me into a cult. Lmao.
Despite my praise for this book, I fear I have become too obsessive with this eating style, as I tend to fast more often than I should when I can't get my hands on greens. It's also probably best to cross reference other health tips regarding fat and sodium intake and not just its impact on glucose levels.

Through page 70 was very informative. She explains human biochemistry relating to glucose very clearly, making it easier for the layman to understand. Her hacks are good tips and tools - easy to follow.

As I am fighting for a year now with pre diabetes, this book is a late but very good addition to my food knowledge. Some of the “hacks” that the writer mentioned I have found the hard way, some of them though I will take for granted.
I was sceptical because the title was cringy, but it is a really good read. I am recommending this to everyone that’s fighting some kind of an eating disorder or just want to switch to a healthier lifestyle.
