what i liked and what did i find helpful in this book the most was the basic chemistry concepts, i never learnt chemistry so i obviously had not idea fiber was a carbohydrate... so, definitions on what glucose, carbohydrates and sugars are were my main lesson, as well as the explanation on how mitocondrias, pancreas and liver work. i'm sure these concepts will help me understand harder science books. now i know what level of glucosa i should ideally have for my next blood test and i can discuss back with backup knowledge to people who tell me i should be eating more often. i can also be aware in the future of the side effects of poor eating habits, and i've gained the vocabulary to verbalise what happens to me after a single bowl of pasta.
I will put on practice the tips, although i feel they should have been summed up into fewer ones. Eating food in the right order for someone with no biochemistry or medicine studies kinda makes sense, nobody wants to live from cakes anyway right? Personally I think it all comes down to eat naturally, organically; and this more "holistic" aspect of life seemed to me to have been ignored and onced again we fall into the mechanical way to look at ourselves. Because yes, honey, sugar and maltodextrine might be the same thing in terms of molecules, but i do not buy that the ultraprocessed manufactured sugar will have the same impact in my body as a local organic jar of honey. another aspect i do not like about the author is her celebrity-like persona, not disregarding her as a professional at all she might be clever into her "glucose goddess" project as a way of making money (and hopefully funding bigger research?) but that is exactly what gives me the ick.
for the last part of the book, i did find very helpful the guide to buy groceries.
will come back to give it five stars if by following all the tips i'll cure myself completely.

A bit wordy, drawn out. But enjoyed the facts.
