This book has really changed my life for the better, I constantly tired and had brain fog for almost 2 years. However, just after 3-4 days of utilizing the super easy "tricks" in this book to stabilize my glucose levels (and minimize the glucose spikes) I don't feel abnormally tired anymore nor have I had any brain fog :)

The book has a good and clear message: Look after your glucose curve trying to minimize extreme highs. I like the explanations and diagrams and definitely learned something while reading, but find the book overall fairly shallow. For me there was too much repetition and overlap between the stories.

Key rules / ideas:

- Eat fibers, fat and protein before eating carbohydrates, e.g. by eating a salad first, by trying and eating your plate in this order or even by adding more calories like extra fats or sides. (rules #1, #2, #3, #10). Thus a desert is preferable to a standalone sweat treat (rule #6)
- Prefer hearty foods (protein and fiber heavy) over sweats items (carbohydrate / sugar heavy). Where the sugar comes from doesn't really matter here (sugar, glucose sirup, dried fruits, ...) (rules #4, #5, #9).
- Use the breakfast to set the right tone and not get into a glucose roller coaster right away (rule #4)
- Vinegar before or with your food can prevent a glucose spike. (rule #7). Related resource: https://nutritionfacts.org/topics/vinegar/
- Move / do some sport after heating to reduce the glucose spike (rule #8)

At least for me those would be the deduplicated hacks. Still: Important to know and worth while to implement.

I really like the way she wrote this book. I think I’m going to try to do this and see if I can find my own credible sources about this matter. However, I didn’t like how she kept promoting her Instagram account and used it as scientific evidence. To me, that felt a bit icky and I would much rather see the actual studies, their credible sources, etc.

It just gives me a piece of mind as to how this is possible. I also want to know more about the hacks in depth. I thought the first two parts of the book were stellar, as they were quite scientific. As someone with PCOS, books like these mean a lot to me as I’m trying to find my way through this hormonal journey. I can only hope she updates those sources to further ease my mind.
