The relationship dynamics didn't work for me. Coupled with the meddling townsfolk that just kept trying to force this relationship to happen when Webb kept being an asshole to Luke, I didn't get it. Sure, Webb didn't have a problem with his sexuality, but words still matter. Issues that should have been resolved in an hour dragged out for days.

SpoilerThe worst thing about this book is that the couple didn't have the first real conversation about their relationship until it was their wedding vows. WTF?

I have been looking forward to this book since I read Pick Me last year, and it was absolutely worth the wait.

Luke Williams moved to Vermont after winning his dream house in a contest. But, you know what they say about things being too good to be true? Instead of the gorgeous house and a welcoming small town that Luke is expecting, he finds a house that is literally falling down around him. And, after a misstep with the town hero Webb Sunday, Little Pippin Hollow becomes a much less welcoming place than Luke had hoped. Webb Sunday doesn't like his son's favorite teacher Mr. Williams, and after getting drunk in the local pub he decides to tell Luke that to his face. But, after a conversation with the man, Webb is forced to admit that maybe he was being a little harsh in his judgement. When Luke and Webb try to officially cement their new friendship, they find themselves accidentally sort of married.

Luke and Webb are fantastic characters. Luke is the ray of sunshine that really is trying to make the best of every situation, and I just wanted to hug him. Webb is lumberjack single dad that is trying to take care of everyone else and forgets to take care of himself. (Even if I did want to smack him a time or two.) I'm admittedly a sucker for a grumpy character realizing they've completely misjudged the sunshine character. Watching these two fall in love as their friends and family try to trick them into completing the steps to be officially married was delightful.

I also really liked the way the custody dispute with Webb's ex-wife was handled. Especially the way Luke reacted to the situation and how he talked about it with both Webb and Aiden. There was no pitting the ex and the new partner against each other, just adults who loved Aiden and wanted the best for him.

Three Thoughts:
1. I loved the way Webb handled his bi-awakening. There was no freakout or internalized homophobia. Just a guy realizing that there was this new part of himself and wanting to see where it goes. And, the chemistry between these two was phenomenal.
2. Commemorative scrolls? *chef's kiss*
3. This book had just the right amount of meddling townsfolk in it for me. It never crossed over into irritating, but they made me laugh plenty.

This was an utter delight from start to finish. And, I find out upon completing it that Book 3 will be Jack and Hawk's book? Yes, please. *grabby hands* If you haven't read this series yet, what are you waiting for?

Hand Picked is the delightfully quirky, fun second installment of the Sunday Brothers series. Webb & Luke’s story has all of the hallmarks fans of May Archer have come to expect: great characters, strong emotional ties, humor, wit and a sweet, slowly burning romance in a charming, small town setting. This is an enemies-to-lovers story you won’t want to miss.

Oh crimeny, what a book.

It's no secret I love May Archer's books and I've been quietly and patiently waiting for Hand Picked since Pick Me finished with *that* big reveal.

I can happily and honestly say that I was not disappointed, despite my high expectations. This book is a delight to read, with just enough madcap (brought to you by the Little Pippin Hollowans ridiculously fun hand fasting requirements and Webb and Luke's inability to stop accidentally fulfilling them) and a whole lot of not-friends to accidentally-handfasted to lovers.

I snorted, I chortled, I swooned and at one point I even got a bit teary. Webb is possibly even more stubborn and grumpy than his brother Knox, what with all the responsibilities he insists on shouldering alone. And Luke is just trying to stay positive and pursue his idyllic dream in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

The chemistry is

I have expired from the adorableness. I don't know how she does it, but every book May Archer writes keeps getting better. Hand Picked is most definitely not an exception.

The townspeople are zany, the situation is hilarious, and the couple is as sweet and as hot as they can be. Luke is so kind and steadfast. He's exactly what the stressed-out, gunshy Webb and his struggling son need.

With low angst, lots of laughs, and the exact right amount of heat, Hand Picked made for the most enjoyable reading I've done in almost a month. I wish it was longer. I wish the next book was coming out tomorrow. And I really wish I could live in Little Pippin Hollow.

4.5 stars.
This gorgeous small town romance had me laughing, sighing and feeling all the feels for Webb and Luke. They really didn’t have a good first introduction to each other and it took some time for Webb to overcome that. A drunken idea to solidify their new friendship had them accidental hand-fasting in front of most of the meddling but loveable townsfolk. Little did they know of the hilarious requirements to be meet to validate their hand fasting. Requirements they are determined not to fulfil!

As the chemistry between them gains momentum, Webb struggles with his newly awakened attraction to a man, a slightly nerdy, shy elementary school teacher with an inventive way of cussing. After embracing the steamier side of the relationship and negotiating a couple of angst inducing hurdles, Webb and Luke get their loving HEA and the townspeople couldn’t be happier. Especially Webb’s young son Aiden who is the most adorable of all the interesting side characters.

I was fully engaged in this enjoyable small town romance and look forward to more in the Sunday Brothers series.

4.5 stars - I really liked it!

I am loving this series so much!! I was in dire need of a fluffy romance and this was the perfect book for that! I've been wanting to read Webb's story since the cliffhanger in the last book, and I loved the results!

This book is so so sweet and Mr. Williams - Luke - is just the cutest character. He always has a smile, loves kids and is a kind teacher, while Webb hates him and doesn't know why until a drunken night at a bar when the two find themselves engaged, involving a bugle and tasks and scrolls. It's just a lot of fun and the people in the town are hilarious and the whole Sunday crew are just the best. If you want a good time, this book is definitely for you!

I am so so excited for the third book which I'm pretty sure is a friends to lovers for Hawk and Jack and I can't wait!
