Tintin kymmenes seikkailu vie astronomian ja tutkimusmatkailun äärelle.
Tarina toimii todella hyvin ja jännitystä pidetään yllä. Pienet koomiset sattumukset toimivat hauskana lisänä taustalla vaikka itse seikkailu on koko ajan pääosassa.
Ei uskoisi, että tämä tarina on vuodelta 1942. Se on kestänyt niin hyvin aikaansa ja toisaalta oli aikaansa edellä

A shooting star is hurtling towards earth at a tremendous rate -- is this the end of the world?
(There's a few more episodes so it's rather unlikely).

I love the oddball sci-fi elements thrown in here, and the many wacky scientists who largely populate the supporting cast. Also: spiders!!
This was one of the Tintin books I remembered actively liking, but reading it this time around was unspectacular. I think the memories of the giant mushroom made me think there was more time on the meteorite.
Large parts of it were hilarious, though.

The first of what I would call the psychedelic Tintin episodes. As the series progresses through history, Hergé began to drift away from straight adventure/detective fiction toward psychic/sci-fi exploration. This story starts as a sort of race-to-the-pole, arctic exploration story which is bookended by sci-fi elements that feel a little surreal. I don't dislike these stories, but I prefer Tintin on the trail of gangsters to Tintin in the end times.

This is an odd one - things start of promising with a close encounter of the meteorite kind and an almost apocalypse. However the remainder of the story takes place on a boat with very little actually happening.
When Tintin inevitably reaches the island/meteorite the plot turns bizarre and we get the land of giants while the main villains disappear in a panel and aren't mentioned again. There's little of actual consequence. Very odd.
So different to the recycled drug smuggling plots of many of the previous stories, which is welcome but somewhat jarring. An odd, brief science-fictiony Tintin tale - I was left with the same feeling I had when Indiana Jones encountered the aliens.
Still, onward...

Un 3.25. No fue taaan wao pero las ganas de Tintin y de Milú de completar aquello que se empieza y de no rendirse siempre caen bien
