I think the description really put me in the environment of the story, the trans and autistic representation in the main character is really authentically realised, and I found the plot to be really compelling.
Drawbacks for me while reading where that:
• This is marketed as a horror and while it is pretty gory at points, I really don't feel it fits into that category.
• Miles is very morally good throughout - he doesn't really make any decisions that reflect a level of lashing out that would have been very understandable in his circumstances. I would have liked to see a bit more nuance and greyness from him on that front.
• Miles' relationship with Dallas progressed very quickly, and in particular we don't really get to see any of the development that takes them to the point they are at the end of the book - I felt the relationship development would have been better omitted if there was no time to really tell that story in the text.
Overall, though, I really loved this read!

Hi hello anyways I am gnashing my teeth at this book in the best way possible. It made me gasp, it made me cry, it made me feral. Andrew Joseph White once again proving himself incredible at giving his characters a unique voice and then punching you in the gut with the imagery.
I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could ♡
