I kind of loved this, and not just because it’s interesting timing in my life, as I am about to send my child off to college (Cornell, no less!). I usually enjoy complicated family dramas, and this one is no exception. I really liked two of the three triplets, guessed some of the twists, but was blindsided by others.

So far very intrigued with this universe the author has created. Like her sharp observations in The Plot about authors, she now is weaving fascination with art. The descriptions of Brooklyn then and now are fun. And using real pieces of artists grounds the narrative solidly. Many apt observations on family.

The author is adept at world-building. At first thought it might seem certain characters are superfluous, but soon the reader is drawn into the intricacies of a life.

The narrator on the audio version is excellent.
