This book started off very well, and there were parts that I gasped at. However, it fell into YA tropes very fast and at the addition of The Boy I could tell exactly where the book was going to end up. I was disappointed we didn’t learn more about Tarlow or Thea quite frankly, and it seemed that the author decided to come up with random scenarios to bury her gays and kill off the other characters so that Thea and The Boy could get superpowers and be in love together. The book would have been much stronger as a stand alone novel, and I will not be reading the sequel, because I don’t need another Divergent/Delirum/Matched knockoff in my shelf.

Great read! I had a bit of a reading slump half way through, and can't decide if it was because the story got slow or just me being a human. I did nit expect this to become a sort of zombie story, but I really liked it. A more scientific look on how that sort of event might start.
Graphic: Body horror, Confinement, Death, Gun violence, and Blood

Funtastic space horror, fun times, so many die, the bodies piled high. Intense action, mystery, and more dead bodies. Don't love any of them, they may be dead on the next page. You have been warned.
Seriously, this was a good read for me. I loved reading it, I even read it slow in bits because I needed to step back and reflect (relax) on what I just read. I ordered book 2 before I even finished this one.

I really liked this book. It moved at a clip, kept its spooky atmosphere and had me exited to see what was going to happen. Good Job.
