I have loved moon since Slades book when he protected Trisha and was so sad when he was drugged in the last book. This was great book. Looking back at their previous relationship as therapist and patient and I felt heartbroken for her when he was forgetting her.

Whenever his memory came back and he just wanted to protect her was, then he was gone again was devastating. Poor Joy. I thought Harley was being a prick but I know it’s because he loves Moon like a brother and didn’t want him hurt again.

I was surprised when the threat to her turned out to be one of her patients rather than the normal threats in this series.

I’m glad moon got his happy ending and reunited with joy.

I think this is the first book we were introduced to True at the gates which opens up for his book next.

The way the flashbacks and his memory returning was written was excellent and made the book exciting I was sad when this book ended .

**3.5** Let’s face it, these books are pure brain candy with cover smut. This one was better than some of the others. Moon’s a sweet guy and I liked him, but his therapist turned romantic parter, not so much.

One of the best series I have read! A well thought out story. Do yourself a favour and read these books.

Phew, I was worried that this one would be like Book 8 which was just a mess of unethical decisions, while this started similar to Obisidan. It was good to see Dr. Joyce "Joy" Yards had more morals and self control.
While 466 (Moon) clearly pursued Joy, she resisted the attraction and didn't return his advances while she was his psychologist. Their relationship started 1 1/2 years later when there was no doctor-patient relationship.

Ok I really liked Dr. Joyce "Joy" Yards. She's extremely logical, professional, and has rational explanations for everything she does throughout the book, even if some of it is rather unusual "treatment" :P There's flashbacks to the past when New Species first got rescued from Mercile and had to adjust to human society. Joy was a psychologist for them, especially given how they were mistreated. Moon, or 446 as he was known then, wants Joy from day 1 and he tells her so during all their sessions. She wants him too but
unlike previous books in the series where we'd see them get together, Joy actually uploads the doctor-patient code and resigns her position rather than be involved with her patient. But resigning means she can't stay there. She rationalizes that if she got involved with Moon back in those early days they likely would have imprisoned her to protect New Species.

Present day this takes up right after the attack on Beauty in Shadow's book, where Moon has been hit by a drugged dart and gone feral. Joy is called in due to her previous association. She understands New Species primitive sexual nature and uses that to calm Moon enough for him to regain himself for periods of time. Its not until later they discover a little implant in his arm that was drugged him every few hours. But while together he "claims" Joy of course ;)

After Moon is his old self again, Joy admits she never got over him and they plan to continue talking but she gets an emergency call from her work that a breakin occured at her office. She leaves Homeland to take care of that and stop by her house to pack, but an unstable patient of hers shows up with a gun. Meanwhile Moon is freaking out that she left him again, and his best friend Harley makes him realize that she's his mate. Moon convinces True to let him through a hidden gate to leave Homeland and go to her. Moon gets there just in time but Joy jumps in front of a gun when the patient shoots and it gets her arm. Eventually they make it back to Homeland and live happily ever after.

There's a badass scene where that fucker Dr. Krekgor comes in demanding Moon be sedated because of a thing he heard from a "friend" on the internet and Joy puts him in his place with the most badass rational argument ever. And he's pretty much fired on the spot. Sooo it seems like Joy is going to get to be a psychologist for New Species again!

Love it! Smart, intelligent women and while she says she'll sacrifice her life for Moon she doesn't have to, she gets to keep practicing her profession! There's literally no talk of babies, just each other.
The only thing that drove me crazy is right at the end they say a million times that Joy needs to eat something after being shot, she literally is so weak she can't stand, but instead she gives Moon head and they have sex. Gah! C'mon! Feed the woman first!

Loved Moon’s story!!! I was really worried about him at the end of Beauty and Shadow’s book. I was really happy that Joy dropped everything to help him. It was romantic and honestly hot that only she could reach him while he was feral. There was a lot to enjoy here!

This book is so sweet and heartbreaking! Moon feels betrayed by Dr. Yards, who he loved, but she left him two years ago because of how unethical--and dangerous--it would have been for them to be together. But in Shadow, Moon was dosed with an unknown drug that has transformed him into little more than an enraged animal. Dr. Yards is called in to help bring him back.
Unlike the other books in this series, there are quite a few flashbacks as Moon slowly regains his memories. These were well done and provided the reader with insight into the history of their relationship while simultaneously making us feel the pain he felt when she first left him.
I loved Moon in the previous books, and this one didn’t disappoint! He’s quite sweet, and Dr. Yards is a perfect match for him.
5 stars

Pretty much read this series as one a day. This one was really good.

Moon has been drugged and it seems to not be wearing off like the breeding drugs did. This is stronger than those drugs and he is totally feral. Justice and company decide to bring in his old psychologist from when he was first released and entered into society through the military. There the psychologists were highly monitored and told to have no contact with the Species. At that time, Species were new and an unknown. 466 or Moon was very interested in the psychologist but she was stand offish because of her job and the ethics involved, she finally had to just quit because he was so adamant.

Years later, as soon as the NSO calls and asks for Joy's help, she agrees readily and comes as a friend. She has never forgotten 466 and wants to see him and help. Moon recognized no one, not his friends and not Joy but he seems to calm and respond to her. This is the start of his recovery and their reconnecting.

Ellora's Cave is slightly cheaper than Amazon currently and it is only available in ebook at this time.

I might round up later for good chemistry/heat between the leads and a reference to Flame and Amanda. I'm starting to think I need a chart to track all the different characters.
