If Love Had A Price

OMG - Nate was the best! I loved his relationship with Kris. None of them expected their chemistry, since she was only using him to get rid of her soon to be step mom. I loved seeing the other characters from their group. Nate had a sad past that he had to deal with, seeing him with his family and everything he went through, was a good twist. Then getting to know the real Kris, that was a bonus. They started fake dating, until they realized it may not be fake anymore. However, they both had total different backgrounds that may not allow them to stay together. This is another must read from Ana.

GASP GASP GASP throughout most of the book!! slow start of their story but by mid book i was HOOKED πŸ₯Ή she really hired this man to ruin her fathers wedding but they fell in love with each other instead 🫣

there were moments where i was like WAIT WHAT I NEED MORE!!!! this was definitely an emotional roller coaster for me, one minute i was happy and giddy then the NEXT nate did something that made me mad and annoyed 🀣 THAT PLOT TWIST??!!!! GASP don’t get me wrong, kris had her moments too BUT besides the rich girl attitude she sometimes portrayed she has FIRE!!!! she knows how to fight for what she believes in 🀞🏼 overall, this was a cute very slow burn read but i think i still prefer farrah and blake’s story.

Kris and Nate… where do I even begin?!

Kris is the very definition of glam, gloss, and get-out-of-my-wayβ€”until she finds herself in the most unhinged Cinderella nightmare: her future stepmother is practically her age. So naturally, what’s a girl to do? Hire a hot fake boyfriend to help sabotage the wedding, obviously.

Enter Nate: grumpy, grounded, and 100% not ready for the emotional whiplash of falling for the woman who hired him. But fall he didβ€”and I’m convinced he fell first. Kris? She fell harder, deeper, and with her whole sparkly heart.

While I would’ve gladly traded a bit of the filler for more chaos from the unhinged almost-stepmom subplot, Ana Huang pulled a plot twist out of nowhere that had me blinking like… I beg your pardon? It was giving emotional whiplash in the best way.

All in all, If Love Had a Price was a deliciously dramatic, slow-sizzle read with a morally grey mission and a surprisingly tender romance. Still, if I’m ranking the series? Farrah & Blake’s duet holds the crown for me. But Kris and Nate? They definitely gave them a run for their moneyβ€”pun absolutely intended.

4,5⭐️ I wondered what Kris her story was ever since I read about Kris in the first two books of the series. I loved reading about her character and to see how she grew during the story! I am also so excited to read about Olivia in the next book:)

I really tried to get into this one, but unfortunately, Kris was really grating on my nerves. I didn’t particularly like her in the first two books of the series, and that whole spoiled brat persona has just stuck in my mind while trying to read this one. It made it difficult for me to connect with her character or feel any sympathy for her struggles. Instead of evolving, she seemed to fall back on the same patterns of behaviour that I found frustrating before, which detracted from my overall enjoyment of the story.

I genuinely want to give this series another shot, so I’ll consider rereading this book and trying to finish the series at some point in the future. Maybe with some distance, I can approach it with a fresh perspective and appreciate the other characters and plotlines more fully. For now, though, it’s a no for me. The experience just wasn’t enjoyable enough to warrant pushing through when I found myself consistently annoyed.

I enjoyed this. The breakups for the two wasn’t even that long and in my humble opinion, I thought it was hilarious.

Kris- I have a feeling she is still very uptight. Like not to her friends but to most people still. I love how she grew out of the popular culture and mean girl stuff, but like damn. I would want her as mt. mentor too.

Nate- I love this man. He is incredibly supportive and damnit, an actor? Sign me the fuck up. Sorry Kris, I may steal your man.

Overall I liked the book. This was a good book to keep me from a reading slump. I also have a theory, Kris and Nate would be the old wise couple in the friend group. Like actually. Also, Skylar is so real for setting them up. Gotta pull the slick sister moves.
