Thought this was a beautiful ending to a great series. Was it life changing? No. Was it a damn good time? Yes! I thought it was a little predictable but I didn’t expect a spectacular plot twist that no one could see coming in a children’s book. Love NPH and he did a great job with this series!

Hands down a really good book. I really enjoyed this series. Can't wait to reread these books and also read them to my son. I know he would love these. Go pick up and read. Fast read and couldn't put it down.

I also recommend the audiobook for this series also.

Kids enjoyed the series - I appreciated that it was at least tricky to determine the motivations of the villain and how he eventually shows up - though the trope of the finale felt a little like Scooby Doo - though I'm wondering if that was the point?

This is the final book in the series, and there were some really interesting parts to it - I enjoyed the fact there was tensions in the friendship dynamic and that we got to hear more from Ridley. I think the audiobook narrator really adds something to her character too. I feel like there was a bit of an anticlimactic showdown and ending overall, but i am not disappointed in that - just felt like it was all a bit neat and tidy when everything had been so far from it throughout. Overall, this series has been interesting and enjoyable with some really interesting twists and turns. Ultimately, i think if i had read this when i was the target age i would have adored it - especially with the diverse character representation!

The fourth and final book is written from Riley's point-of-view. She's worried she's too much trouble for her mother, who she's secretly afraid loves her work (writing books!) more than her.

Kalagan will use this deep seated fear against her, as he'll use all the Misfits' fears and petty jealousies against them in his final play to discredit Mr. Vernon in the kids' eyes, once and for all, and bring them over to his side.

Except he's underestimated the kids' love for Mr. Vernon and deep-rooted friendships. I can't say much more or I'll ruin the twists, but just know, this book brings the Misfits' and Mr. Vernon's story full-circle to Carter's arrival in Mineral Wells in book 1 (hint-hint!).

I knew I wouldn’t love Ridley’s story, although the narrator (audiobook) made me like Ridley more than I did. I liked the surprises at the end, but not enough to ignore how underwhelming the big showdown was. Overall, this is a wonderful series full of adventure, humor, friendship, growth, magic, and more. I would recommend to any kid who is interested in magic!

Another four stars for this final installment in The Magic Misfits series. I very much enjoyed all four of thee audiobooks, and laughed out loud at some of the more funny parts, (usually thanks to Ozzie and Izzie.) Not quite five stars in my humble opinion, but an enjoyable read for kids of all ages. Again, I like the disability representation, and the same sex marriage rep as well. Good job, Neil Patrick Harris!
