I think I'm a bit older (20 yrs post-high school) than the intended audience of this book, but because of that, I think I enjoyed the book more than younger readers. I came at it from an "also-lived-this" perspective, so a lot of the stories told as cautionary tales for young adults struck me more as the kind of things middle-aged girl friends share while reminiscing over a bottle of wine. In that way, this book was a comfort. Hearing someone else speak openly about the wardrobe malfunctions, social faux pas, and other young-adult slip-ups I experienced made me feel a bit better about my own past, or at least helped me laugh about it for once, rather than cringe.

I have enjoyed both of Alyssa’s books. I think mainly because we are about the same age and I can relate to her life even though I don’t have cats and she doesn’t have kids, we have some similar philosophies and I find her stories about working for Obama fascinating!

I love how Alyssa’s writing makes the reader feel as if they’re talking to one of their BFFs. Her second book is a combination of humorous and insightful essays and interviews with famous friends. So here’s the thing...I’ll keep reading and enjoying Alyssa’s books as long as she keeps writing them!

Alyssa Mastromonaco is who I want to be when I grow up. After falling in love with her first book, following her on Twitter, and being delighted every time she appeared on a podcast, I was very excited for this new release. She continues to write in a wonderfully realistic voice, that is brutally honest, as well as hilarious and conversational. Reading this book feels like what I imagine spending time with her to be like. She delivers her advice with such confidence, but also explains where she has grown from. With stories not only about her life in politics, but also love and cats. Through this book, as well as her first, Mastromonaco inspires me to become comfortable in my own skin, and speak my mind without shame.

I love Alyssa Mastromonaco and I will probably read every book she writes. I think her voice is great and she tells great stories with great humor. I didn't like this one as much as her first book, but still a big fan.

Interesting quick read. I liked getting a little bit of a behind-the-scenes look at life on campaign trails and on the White House staff.

I liked her first book. This was like all her random B stories. There wasn't enough info here for a book and a lot of the stories and advice weren't interesting. I kind of hated this unfortunately
