So I like the character world this is set in. Slyvie and Creed have been in love since the moment they met and were going to spent their lives together. However someone close to them decided to change that.

I read this story in two goes because it’s quite intense and I wasn’t in love with the characters but I enjoyed it a lot more the second part. I also really appreciated that Knight and Anya had an appearance.

This is a tough read. The events in the book are not for the faint hearted, having said that, it also follows the typical KA formula, Hot Alpha Guy who is utterly devoted to his girl.
Sylvie reminded me a bit of Ally from the Rock Chick series, Knight says she is like a female version of Creed, I am not keen on the female alpha type roles but as with Ally, from The Rock Chick series, when you get to know her, she has a vulnerable side and a caring mothering nature.
There is a mystery story-line, Sylvie does some work for Knight and they are having problems with Nair so they work to sort that but this means so we see plenty of Knight and some of Rash and even Anya but the main focus is on the re-connection of Sylvie with Creed.
KA writes fantastic family dynamics and this also is delved in to in this book with Creed having an ex who he has dealings with(I won't explain why as it may spoil).
If you have been reading the series you will want to read this one.

2.5 stars maybe?

I liked the story concept and Sylvie's hard-living lifestyle didn't bother me like it did other readers (it made sense given her trauma). But Creed seemed maybe a little too perfect? Although I did like how his ex was portrayed as a cool woman and good mother instead of the usual villainous shrew; it made for a nice change of pace.

The thing that lost me is that if you asked me to describe the suspense part of the plot, I couldn't. It really didn't register as important. And after the first few childhood flashbacks, I started skipping those scenes (which is not uncommon for me, I have a low tolerance for flashbacks). And I stopped reading the extended epilogue before finishing.

So... maybe I should round this down to 2 stars, as I'm very unlikely to ever re-read it.

**4.5 stars**

Really enjoyed this story! I'm a sucker for second chance romance.

Loved Creed even more than Knight! It was more of a love story with more romance and Creed was a much nicer guy. From the book description, I expected Sylvie to be more of a hard ass, but I'm glad she was who she was--it gave the story just enough tension. It was great to see Knight again as well. Of course, it was also super HOT! Can't wait for the next one!!

love these books

6/25/14: Loved sassy Sylvie. Just loved her! My heart broke for her and Creed's back story but it was so fabulous to be along for the ride when they got back together. KA does it again!

This Kristen Ashley book was unique in that it paired two people (hero and heroine) who were equally alpha. It was an interesting concept that worked surprisingly well. On finishing, I'm of the opinion that there are none quite like Sylvie Bissenette. She is a petite, gun-totting, vigilante-earning, protector of woman. I admired Sylvie's stubbornness but self-awareness of when the battle was over and she needed to relent. She was full of integrity, fierce loyalty and spunk. She works in the employ of Knight, which I wasn't sure about as that is the only KA book I haven't enjoyed. Knight was a side character in the book and I warmed a little more to him. He had some excellent lines, short, staccato but poignant.

This was a book of fantastic second chances if only Sylvie would let herself. Creed was a scarred, gun-totting, vigilante/PI-earning alpha. They were one another's first love. Seeing these two fight and bicker for power and one-upmanship was highly amusing. Behind all this is a solid, engaging tale of longing and unfulfilled dreams. As with others in this Unfinished Hero series, there's a upgrade on the twisty heat that was fun to read. I've read this series out of order but it doesn't matter, they stand alone well.

Creed begins when Sylvie and Creed meet at a very young age, then after growing up together and falling for one another, they are torn apart by forces unseen.
Many many years later they end up meeting again, almost by chance. But again there seems to be forces bringing them together, yet keeping them apart.
They both don't understand what happened, and they've each faced their share of heartache and pain from it. Now, they have to figure out if they can let the past go and fight for each other or just give up.

This book was very interesting, and I liked it. I liked Sylvie and Creed, and the relationship between them was beautiful.
I also liked the plot line. It was very interesting, and kept me interested from the beginning till the end.

The only issues I had with the book were the flashbacks. I really couldn't stand that at all. I kinda wish we got to see that first, and then it was out of the way later on in the book, but that wasn't the case.
Other then that I liked this one, and I look forward to reading more in the series.

Skimmed pretty much the whole thing. It just wasn’t what I was expecting I guess. The description sounded great but it is like a wish on a genie lamp, I got way more than I wanted or bargained for and not in a good way.
