First of all, thank you so much to Bella for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I've read every other book by Bella and I think this was actually one of my fave, definitely in the top three. I feel like she outdid herself with this. I honestly read it so fast without feeling like it was rushing. I do have a preference for longer books, but I know Bella usually writes her around this length and it never bothers me because she really manages to cover everything I feel the need for so nicely.
I really loved the way the main characters met again. I felt like it flowed nicely and just made sense. The storyline itself was great and well done. I loved Deacon, he was such a great addition to the crew. Brynlee is one of my fave Kingston family member, but I enjoyed so much seeing more of her. What I loved as well, was Maddox and his relationship with Brynn. I mean, he is such a fun and intriguing character (I can't wait to read his book!) and it was so good to see him more.
Deacon and Isla were lovely as parents. There are not many books out there of divorced parents that are in a good relationship and I honestly love ex-spouses with kids who manage to keep boundaries whilst respecting each other and maintaing a friendly relationship. So it was truly a nice addition.
The group dynamics always make me fall in love more with the book, so having those was just the cherry on top.
I do have to say something, as someone who loves the single parent trope, I would have loved to see more of Kennedy in general and more specifically interacting with her dad and with Brynlee. But that's just me and my very personal preference.
Overall, I just really loved reading this book. It was such a nice final chapter for this series and I can't wait to know what happens to Kenzie!

This book was such a great way to end this series. I'm glad that we don't truly have to say goodbye to this group of girls quite yet!
I loved Deacon and Brynn. These two were so cute, and I LOVED the "my wife" trope in this book. Deacon fell hard and fast, and Brynlee was right behind him. She was so good with Kennedy and I only wish their story could have been longer.
Like always, the humor in this series continued, the great text chains were there, and Lindy is still obsessed with Easton 🤣 This story was a nice, easy, comfort read. Thank you for giving us this series, Bella.
Thank you, Bella and VPR for sending me this ARC.

I wasn’t really in the right headspace to read this but it managed to keep my attention which was nice. I enjoyed getting to see Brynn’s story after seeing her as a side character throughout the series and I did enjoy her. I found the plot a little lacking and it felt like there were some events and circumstances thrown in there just to add something but they didn’t make a ton of sense. The marriage element also felt a little out of left field but I did really like the daughter and what she brought to the book. Overall this was a cute fun palette cleanser of a read and it’s nice to have those once in a while but now that the series is over I’ll probably never think about it again.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HEA: yes
POV: dual 1st person POV
spice: several open-door spicy scenes
TWs: adoption, anxiety, career ending injury, death from Huntington’s disease, divorce, panic attacks, parental abandonment
Kinky Content: anal play, dirty talk, “one more”, oral, praise, phone sex, public sex, spanking
standalone: book 4 of Playing to Win series
final thoughts: Brynlee’s Secret Thoughts at the beginning of her chapters were SO GOOD
This book took me a minute to get into and wrap my head around since I read it as a standalone and needed to keep reminding myself of the family tree (located at the beginning of the book). There are a LOT of characters but they each add such a unique element to the story.
I love a strong FMC who can hold her own, and Brynlee was definitely that girl. As a daughter of a MMA champion and owner of several MMA degrees/belts/whatever, there was no question that she was a badass.
Deacon was a sweet, protective MMC who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to fight for it.
The banter had me laughing out loud and the family dynamics were so fun to read about. I’ll definitely be reading more from Bella Matthews!
