Okay okay okay. So book one was marraige of convenience and this one is fake engagement and I am dying because they are my favorite cliches. I am up for these stories, no matter how many times I read them, because you know that they're going to make it work and be happy (I mean, you're reading a romance, so that's gonna happen anyway) but hooooooowwwwwwwww. When are they going to realize that they really love each other? Which one will admit it first? How's it going to happen?
So, take one of my favorite tropes, add in a bunch of siblings, a few cute kids, and put it all in the hands of one of my favorite writers and I am a happy chicken!
Read this book. Read it now. Also, one of the sisters has what I think is Down Syndrome, though of course it isn't called that. You don't see that frequently in romance novels, so I think that is a positive sign of diversity.

FOREVER GIRL FREYJA *___*. I love how being in love elevates what's already great about each Bedwyn sibling, and she is no exception to this rule. Not to mention fake dating/engaged/married is one of my all-time favorite tropes. Accidentally catching feelings and realizing that you've met your match!!! Joshua is equally as delightful as Freyja, and I laughed a lot more than I usually do when reading romance novels, which was a pleasant surprise. I could actually see myself re-reading this in the future.
UGH, SO CHARMING, WHAT ARE THESE EMOTIONS? Fake engagement!!!!! FAVE TROPE.
Also I admit that Wulf and Freyja's conversation at the end made me teary. Siblings, man.

Rifling through this series. Great story in this one again. Loved this couple together.
I loved this one, especially Joshua! The author won me over with him because he was fun and playful and his eyes were always smiling. Of course, his deeper character is revealed and he’s even more noble and lovable then! Freya was a hoot with her tendency to pop off & outclass/smart talk jerks as well as land a punch when they deserved it - ha! This book is my favorite of the series so far.
Fake dating is an excellent trope. I enjoyed the setup here. But I’m kind of sick of being told how awesome the Bedwyns are. How many times does Freyja have to assure someone that she's not afraid of anything, ANYTHING. They are actually just stuck up and insufferable. And Joshua is the kind of romance hero I don’t care for–just insufferably egotistical and self-absorbed. Neither one has any real problem. They’re not interesting or brave or kind or warm—they’re just very rich. So three stars on this one for me.
i love couple's chamistry in this one. as much as i love clash of different personalities relationship, i have a soft spot for same personalities relationship and it was really well done here. they are goals tbh. I also adored how we got many bedwyn and joshua's family moments.
for freyja, i didn't read a summer to remember and i am not sure if i will after this. maybe for lauren.

I was really looking forward to Freyja's book - and it did not disappoint. I adore her. She is smart, spunky, aggressive, independent, and I think I saw a lot of myself in her. Showing love or a soft heart is a weakness. Deep down, she wants that fairy tale love, but stops short of believing it should or will happen. I loved Joshua, too - his humor, his heart of gold lurking behind that fun-loving, woman-chasing front. What an unexpected, but perfectly matched couple.
I think I've avoided Mary Balogh books for years - I'm not sure what exactly it was, but maybe I thought they weren't the historical romance to which I tend to gravitate. However, there is something special in her writing - at one point in each of her books, I find exposed a heart-breaking, moving core of emotion - something so deep I feel it in my chest. It is simply lovely, and breathtaking.
