The twists in this book were surprising, and the villains of this tale are true chameleons. Don’t trust anyone. Beautifully done.
I truthfully preferred the side plot more than the plot about the movie stars

3.5. It was good up until the ending. Predictable and kinda just fell off. Questions unanswered too.

It's gonna be a no from me for this one.
A Fatal Affair started out well enough. Double murder, missing kid, secrets, lies, betrayals. Typical thriller tropes, yet executed well. As the story went on, it got more interesting, and I became sucked in more and more. I couldn't pinpoint what was going on, and I liked the feeling of being as lost as the detectives. Man, I love a good procedural.
However, as much as the story progressed, it also seemed to be going nowhere fast. Not to mention that I had every single twist already figured out. I was hoping and praying that I wasn't right...I very much was. That's not why I'm giving this book 2 stars, though. No, it's because the twists were over the top, and the fairy tale ending was a bit too much for me. I know it's fiction, but can we have some reality... please.
This is my second A.R Torre book. I didn't like the last one either. I think I'll stop here. It was a fast-paced and bingebale read, so I'll give it that. The concept was interesting, and I would've gotten a higher rating from me if it weren't for the soap opera plot twists.
