A terrific grumpy/sunshine, single dad romance. I especially loved the angst and emotion at the end.

I guess I am in my Maxine Era?! Whether she’s a rock star’s new bride, a boss babe loved by three men, or a nanny for a cinnamon roll daddy, she nails them all!

Style: Dual
More Than I Could is a complete standalone. It is a grumpy/sunshine, single dad/nanny, small town romance.
Chase is driving down the road when he comes across a stalled vehicle. His first thought is to leave it be and let the driver fend for themself. But he decides to help the stranger instead. Megan, the woman in the car, instantly freaks out when some stranger approaches her vehicle. They exchange a few barbs and eventually go their separate ways. But the next day, they see each other again when they realize she’s the one his mother (and her mother) sent to be a nanny for his fourteen-year old daughter, Kennedy.
Megan and Chase had chemistry from the start, but they both tried to deny it. Megan was only there for a month, and Chase didn’t want anyone to get close because it would affect his daughter.
Chase was such a great dad to Kennedy. It was obvious how much he loved her and wanted to protect her. I liked seeing Megan’s bond with Kennedy too! Kennedy is 14, so she’s not exactly a child. There were things she didn’t feel comfortable discussing with her father, because they were just things he wouldn’t understand. But with the relationship she formed with Megan, she was able to open up and trust her.
This book was low angst and full of heartfelt conversations. There were also funny moments as well. It was another great book by Adriana Locke, and I hope Chase’s siblings get stories too.

I loved this story! I really enjoyed their meet cute! I loved how she connected with his daughter and the rest of his family.
I think the narrators did a wonderful job at bringing the story to life. They both perfectly fit their character.

This was adorable!
Megan takes a nanny job, but doesn’t realize it is for the son of her mom’s friend. He’s also the guy who helped her with her malfunctioning rental car. She left California after being let go from her job there, and her life is up in the air. Chase is a lineman. He is a single dad to a 14 yr old girl, Kennedy, and is dealing with her teenage shenanigans. Megan is only there for a month, but tension is high and they can’t resist each other.
I really enjoyed Megan’s character. She took no shit, and I LOVED how she got along with Kennedy. This was hot. The tension was high between Megan and Chase, and I loved how they initially agreed not to do anything. But……..
This felt so fast, but it wrapped up really nicely in the end. I loved Kennedy’s development through this. Also GAVIN. He was so funny and he was a sweetheart for being there for Megan. I want to read a Gavin book!

I have no words that will be good enough to capture how perfect this book was! From their meet-cute to the end, I fell in love with both Chase and Megan. Single Dad Chase is everything a dad is and more since he's doing it alone, well with his family of course. Kennedy is a little troubled and that drives Chase crazy but as Megan helps out while she's nannying for them, Chase finally gets to see he daughter as more than just a troubled girl. Kennedy steals the book for me, her scenes with Megan are the best. The heat between Chase and Megan is book melting hot! I know this is a stand alone book but hopefully in the future we get the rest of Chase's families books too!

I’m in love. Holy shit. I was captivated beginning to end! Seriously cannot recommend this book more! I will definitely be checking out more of Adriana’s books! I’m a fan for life now
Megan is trying to find her place in the world after recently having to move back home with her mom who then sends her to help Chase with his daughter for a month. The way this story is different is that Chase and Megan acknowledge their attraction to each other in the beginning and have to learn how to navigate that. I loved Chase and Megan, but the supporting characters might be my favorite. Chase’s brother Gavin becomes Megan’s best friend in town, and we get to see his interactions with both of them. Although, I did enjoy seeing Megan’s communication with her original best friend Calista. Then, there is Kennedy, Chase’s daughter. She is older than most single dad-nanny romance books and needs a presence like Megan’s; she wants someone that she can talk to, but most importantly she ends up getting someone who will listen to her. Megan is searching for her home, and she ends up finding that with Chase and Kennedy.

3.5 stars.
This was a cute and sweet romance that I liked, and had moments I loved but didn't overall love. I felt the insta-lust was a bit too much and it was repeated too often how hot they found the other person. I also felt that it skipped pretty fast from a fling to more without some crucial development moments.
As always, I enjoyed the family dynamics and banter, and the steamy scenes were fine, but felt like there could've been more development to this story and couple.
Thank you to Adriana and Candy Kane PR for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Megan got downsized from her job and has been staying with her mom in Texas. When her mother can't keep her promise to watch her best friend Maggie's 14 year old granddaughter Kennedy for a month, Megan goes to Illinois in her place.
Chase is a single dad with a job that requires him to work long hours and occasionally travel overnight, so he doesn't want to leave Kennedy alone for a month while his parents take a vacation. He first meets Megan when her car is broken down on a dark country road surrounded by cornfields. Neither of them realizes that they'll be meeting again the next day when she shows up to discuss the nanny job.
Kennedy is 14 and a little bit of a handful, although she also seems to have a good heart and a lot of common sense, even if she doesn't have a lot of experience in handling all the things life throws at you when you're a teenager.
They navigate a lot of hurdles over the month - not the least of which is Chase and Megan realizing that their attraction for each other is beyond irresistible.
Just another Adriana Locke story that will make the reader smile and appreciate how fulfilling it can be to be part of a loving family, even if it's a family you create for yourself.
