Cozy winter mystery in a cool secluded house.
Decided to read this sequel to get the tiny bit of context mentioned in Thief Knot (which is supposed to be stand-alone in the same world, but the first pages referenced this one too much for me to not read it without this one). Kate Milford always write in a very easy and enjoyable way, so its hard to dislike, but I thought this plot was so jumbled and all over the place. Still going to read Thief Knot but maybe with a book or two in between!

There are a ton of characters so it got a little confusing at time
A must-read if you liked Greenglass House, and if you didn't read it, go read it now and then read this one! They're really good!

Fans of the first Greenglass House book will be happy to see most of their favorite characters return here. In a many ways the plot rehashes a lot of what was done in the first book. I found myself not quite as into it as I was expecting. There are a lot of extraneous details, and at times the plot feels confused and jumbled. Milford's descriptive prose is in evidence throughout the book and it does have a very grounded sense of place.
It took a little longer than the first book to get going, and the plot wasn’t as evenly paced. I still enjoyed it once I got into it, and it’s definitely worth reading if you enjoyed the first book.
