I really enjoyed reading this book, I loved the setting and the world was really unique. The magic system is so creative and I have not seen a similar magic system. It was quite eye-opening with what is considered as Craft, for example cooking which is one of the most basic parts of our survival (I had a similar reaction as Isobel). I couldn't stop reading this and didn't want to put down the book to go to bed (after a while because at first I was not that interested). Overall I love the characters, I find Rook and his mannerisms cute like he was head over heels in love with Isobel AHHH. I felt a bit unsatisfied with the ending like <spoiler? I wanted to see them make new laws or at least explain what you had to do to become King/ Queen? I would have loved to have more to read from this world but at the same time I understand why this one is a standalone.

This is my all time favourite book!

Isobel and Rook are so FRICKING CUTE! I have no other words for the way this book made me feel, except that I just felt really happy and content after reading it. And now I just think of craving more.

I'm sorry, this book just ✨stole✨ my heart and many probably won't understand such an intense liking to the book and it's characters, but there was something magical in it, I swear! The book literally used some kind of magic on me, because I genuinely enjoyed every part of it. I remember reading and always being like: "I can't stop!"

The famous teapot scene, where Rook almost got "assassinated" by a teapot was as cute as I imagined. And not to mention the fact that Rook could turn into a raven... those birds are so cool and I love that he can do that! Please, I need more!!

This whole novel feels like a fever dream, the main character even says so. As a chronically ill person, who often experiences fever dreams (I'm somewhat of an expert on the subject), I can't help but agree. Let's look at similarities:

1. Did this feel almost like a normal dream (fae characters, human girl who's REALLY good at painting, everyone's royal)? Yes.

2. Did it also feel just a bit weird (ugly glamours, blood = pretty flowers??)? Yes.

3. Was it still more on the fun dream side than the nightmare one? Yes. Will be able to tell friends & family about it.

4. Will I forget about it very soon? Yes.

The amount of times I was giggling and blushing throughout this book is actually insane. I thoroughly enjoyed An Enchantment of Ravens and had so much fun reading it. I definitely agree with my favorite booktuber, Caricanread, who says that this book is written like a fairytale. Truer words have never been spoken. The main part I enjoyed about this book was the romance. It was extremely fast-paced yet very believable and well done, which is a hard combination to achieve. Rook is the love of my life and Isobel made a wonderfully clever protagonist (and their chemistry is amazing as I said earlier)! All in all a wonderful book that I very much recommend!

I would have loved seeing more descriptions of the fair ones, and therefore a bit more content to the story, but I'd still say this book left me satisfied. I knew how the story ends before I started reading it, and yet getting to the end was exhilarating. Finishing this experience felt like the biggest sigh of relief just pouring out of me - in a good way. Tip: if you like Holly Black's Folk of the Air series, this book will probably be up your alley.
