Do I regret just diving into book 8 without going through 1-7? Nope, not one bit.

Heart of Atlantis was one of those books that I definitely chose to listen to for a challenge. It was a short audio and it helped me fill a task. Fortunately for me, it was an enjoyable audio. Even if I kept zoning in and out due to my Mucinex (#flu).

In it, you will meet Alaric, Jack, and Quinn. Ya know how I hate love triangles? Still do. Jack was so full of himself and for some reason thought that Quinn should just be his and his alone. Well okay, it's time to find some realistic goals buddy. Mostly because I was allllll about Alaric and Quinn. They are just so cute and I was loving the whole alpha side on Alaric.

Quinn was an okay character for me. She didn't annoy me so much.. but she also didn't wow me. She sometimes seemed like a badass in her own way but other than that she was just an okay character. I liked her enough - she just wasn't my absolute favorite MC.

Overall, I may or may not dive into books 1-7 lol

Fantasy and Romance, epic conclusion to a series I have been following for a long time. Quite frankly its about time these two go together, and it could not have been done better. The back and forth between Alaric and Quinn seems much more realistic, including a shattered past and issues.
Only fitting that this story is the ending, as it has the Rising of Atlantis and the (finally) marriage of all the couple, inc the coronation of the high prince.
The only one it did not wrap up to my taste was Denal, who we go to see briefly, but seems to have vanished again, we had no idea what he did, or what is up with him.
All and all, I lived in this world long after I put the book down. I can only hope one day the author picks this up again, and we can see what their kids get up to in a brave new world.

Alyssa Day has done it again with this one. From the first moment we met Alaric, I knew that I wanted to hear his story most of all. The dark, brooding characters always have the best tales to tell. When we found out that he was in love with Quinn, it was a match made in heaven. Two hard-headed fools who were so busy putting everyone else first that they had forgotten about themselves. I could think of no better way for the two of them to end up than together.

It’s taken seven books but we finally get to see the story of Alaric and Quinn and their chance at a happily ever after. Alaric is the (celibate) High Priest of Atlantis, Quinn is the human leader of the Resistance. Since the moment they first met, seven books ago, they’ve been drawn to each other but have not been able to act on their feelings because of their commitments. Circumstances leave them with a chance at forever but when an imposter for the Atlantean throne demands Quinn for his bride Alaric must fight for the one woman who has ever tempted him. And Quinn is right there by his side, fighting for her chance at a HEA. Great conclusion to a fun series, I’m excited for whatever Alyssa Day may have up her sleave next.

The long awaited finale to the Warriors of Poseidon series and Alaric’s story. Alaric has spent his whole existence being strong physically, mentally and magically as high priest to Poseidon. He has also been celibate. When he met Quinn he knew she was his soul mate but resisted the attraction in favor of duty. As for Quinn she has issues with her past and her duty as leader of the human resistance standing between her and her attraction to the stoic Alaric.
I have enjoyed this series full of alpha men, sweet sassy women and all kinds of adventure and magic. If there were two characters more deserving of love and each other I don’t know who they might be. Non-stop action. Oh my goodness how the strong melt. A book I will read and re-read.

No! -cries- It’s over! It’s the end of the world!

Okay, maybe not, but it sure feels like a part of me has died. I have been with this series since the very beginning, and I have enjoyed every step of the journey. To have it end is bittersweet. I finally got the story I’ve been waiting for since book 1, but I come to the end of an incredible series. This book had a lot to live up to, and I’m so happy it didn’t disappoint.

I’ve heard many people found Quinn annoying. Personally, I thought she was a perfect fit. Having been a rebel leader for so long, she’s lived a very lonely and terrifying life. But things are about to change. Much faster than she’d like. I really liked how strong yet vulnerable Quinn was. It showed that she was a human woman with normal feelings. For so long she’s has to be this tough leader, someone others can count on. She never had a chance to lean on someone else. With Alaric, she gets that chance. She gets the opportunity to not only let down her guard, but be a woman. Even though life as she knows it is quickly being ripped to absolute shreds, and despite her best efforts to do what is right, it comes down to one thing: love. She realizes that she can still be a prominent aid in the war, but she can still be the woman she is inside. Instead of keeping the real her locked up, she can finally—after so long—be herself.

Dear sweet Poseidon! Alaric was just drool-worthy from the beginning. Finally having had enough with everything—his position, his duties, his loneliness, even his god—he’s decided he’s not going to take it anymore. There’s only one thing in his life that matters: Quinn. And he’ll do anything to protect her. But, like in all good finales, things go wrong very quickly. I was hooked by Alaric’s transformation through this book. Starting off determined to say ‘screw you’ (putting it nicely) to everything and everyone, to realizing that he has one more very important duty, was very deep and heartfelt. I felt his journey through the roughest part of his life was not only perfectly done, but he handled it in a way that was true to himself. With the help of his fellow warriors, and one stubborn rebel leader, he became the thing of legends. He completely embraced who he was deep inside, accepted that he had been where he belonged all along, and found love when he thought he’d never have it. It was absolutely beautiful and torturous and 100% perfect.

And let me just say, that ending? I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it. Just when you thought it was over, something else reared its ugly disastrous head. And then something else. And then something else. It was pure torture, but pure bliss at the same time. That ending was everything I could have wanted in a final book. I was in no way disappointed. It left me satisfied, but sad. Sad because such a phenomenal series has come to an end.

My warriors will always have a place in my heart.

OH MAN. I was surprised by how much I loved this book. I hate Alaric... Or at least I have until this book. oh and I HATED Qhuinn. I didn't feel bad for them not being able to be together. Nope. Alaric was just always this incredibly asshole side character and Qhuinn was the bitch rebel leader. Thats just how I saw them in the past books. But this book changed my mind.

...Well kind of. I still think Qhuinn is a bitch and I still think Alaric is an asshole but they have good reasons... and not just the whole he can't have sex and well Qhuinn wasn't just a bitch lol. Alaric has basically decided that he is done with Poseidon. He wants to give up his job and be with Qhuinn. Aww... kind of. But right now Atlantis is in a crisis. Someone has claimed to be the true king of Atlantis and he happens to have the last gem they need. ohhhh and this big faker also happens to want to make babies with Qhuinn. Thats whats happening on earth.. and in Atlantis the Trident is going wonky and the dome is cracking. AH. So there's a lot happening in this book. The bitchy Qhuinn breaks down and cries and the steady Alaric goes bat shit crazy. It's all a good time!

It's always bittersweet when I read the last book in a series that I loved and I LOVED this series. It's the first series I've read by Alyssa Day and I am going to read more from her because her writing is intense and detailed without being obnoxious with the color of people tennis shoes. Anyways... I don't think I could have come up with a better ending. It was sappy (as all the books from this series have been sappy at the end) but it wrapped everything up nicely andddd there was a little bit of a hint for maybe another series? I honestly don't know. I haven't gone and stalked Alyssa to find out what series is next or if it's connected. But I'm going to!!! :)

This long awaited chapter in the series telling the tale of Quinn and Alaric left me a bit unsatisfied. The writing is entertaining as usual but for something so anticipated I don't think it was the best in the series. Some long running plot points wrap up too neatly with insufficient action for a spunky rebel leader and the most powerful priest of Poseidon ever. Everything ends up wrapped up with a bow and not as complete or thrilling as I had hope. I had expected for the final book to interweave other characters more closely. Tiernan, despite being a reporter doesn't get the exclusive she was promised, let alone more than a line or two. Still a good read but again not the best in the series.

It's the one we all awaited - Quinn and Alaric, the two characters that have danced around one another for the whole series. I still can't believe how the book concluded. Action packed fights, demons, a crazy vampire queen, the missing rock as well as a Trident bent on destroying the dome over Atlantis and the ascension of the Seven Isles - all in one book. IF you thought this book was boring, rethink.
The love between both characters was amazingly subtle at first, both clearly knowing what they felt but being afraid of what would happen if they gave in to their emotions.

It wasn't as good an ending as it could have been, but it was good nonetheless. This marks the official last book in the series, even though the author stated, that some of the characters might get their own book or novella so she can tell their stories too. I'd really like to read more about what happened to Jack and Noriko.
