This book has good information, including detailed examples of social media posts that hit or missed their marks. Unfortunately, with a publication date of 2013, some of it is already sorely out of date. Such is the nature of social media! Overall, it’s at least worth a read from a strategic standpoint.

This book tells us how to practically use social media as a tool for marketing.
Not some get-to-go youtube video tutorial, but an actual guide.
To sum up---- Give, give, give, give, give... ask.

An excellent overview of social media marketing in today's world. (Emphasis on TODAY'S, it can all change TOMORROW!) GaryVee gets it. It's a must read for those who know a lot and those who know a little about doing social media marketing-- either way you'll learn something from this master of the craft.

Worthwhile read for anyone interested in social media marketing. I found his critiques of other business' social media posts to be more educational than his writing. Show me, don't tell me. It was helpful to learn through examples of the do's and don'ts of good content creation. I think the author is a bit narcissistic and pushy (he repeatedly reminds the reader to buy his other books) but hey that's marketing I guess.

I don't know if Gary V is what would be referred to as a "marketing guru" but this book certainly drives up that road. Its a work directed at those in charge of marketing and branding in organisations.

There are a few practical take-aways and a fair amount of fluff. The case studies on successful and unsuccessful use of social media are instructive, although dated. This book was published in 2013.

In the end, its an alright read. I took what I needed from it, which was mostly helpful, and skimmed over the rest.

This book came out originally in 2013 so as far as social media marketing strategies go, it’s a bit outdated — I mean, he has a section about Vine in here! However, a lot of the basic information and tips he gives are still wildly relevant and helpful, and are explained in a manner that’s easy to absorb. If he came out with an updated one for 2019 I would read it in a heartbeat.

This is an amazing book on social media. The author writes in a very funny, light and understanding way, which is why I finished it in 2 days. He makes excellent points and expands only as much as he has to. Highly recommend to anyone interested in social media, not just marketers. I only wish he releases a second updated edition. Also, great illustrations

Love "Crush It," by Gary Vaynerchuk, we've listened to this audiobook roughly 15 times in the studio ... This book ... Well, it's tough to write a book on social media and stay current ... Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook is 2 years old, and it shows.

If you're clueless about social media, and media strategy for brands, sure, there are some useful tidbits. As someone very familiar with social media and branding, I found it mostly common sense and stuff I already knew.

Maybe if Gary V was reading it, I'd have liked it more (no audiobook yet).

Loved this quote however:

"Being cool has nothing to do with age; it has to do with how solid your identity is."
- Gary V, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook
