I'm not sure what to say about this one. It seemed the story would've been the same if the miniaturist wasn't even part of it. I enjoyed reading it, but I'm not sure what the point was - what I was supposed to take away from it.

Pretty entertaining. Overall it fell a bit flat.

I enjoyed this story despite its darkness and somewhat obscure characters. In fact, that may be the very reason I clung to it as I did. The murky environment and unusual characters kept me entangled in the story. I highly recommend reading the prologue again after finishing the book.

I am torn between a 3 and a 4 star rating for this book. On one hand, I found it impossible to put the book down... As I was eager to see the story unfold and how Nella grew into the position she held. However, I felt that by the end of the book, Nella's path had unfolded and we learned so much about the outcome of her life, but the miniaturist was still a mystery waiting to be solved. I wish the author gave more detail to that side of the story and to its resolution.

This book drove me insane. I found it to be mainly interesting and intrigue, though incredibly slow. The story just seemed to drag on forever. 20 pages began to feel like 100. While this story certainly had its high points, it most defiantly had it low points.
It took me forever to get through this. By the end of it, I was just so tired of reading it, that I didn't care what happened. If it hadn't taken me so long to read this, I probably would have rated it higher, but I was so fed up with this, that I wanted to be done with this.
