Liked the movies and finally got around to the book. What a better story in the book.....no question. Im so glad I finally red it. Do yourself favor and pick this up.

Complex

Good fun an intricate plot nothing like the film but you couldn't make this exactly in a film. Worth reading if you like this kind of stuff

Very different from the movie which I really enjoyed. It was like a whole new story. I can't wait to read the next one. There was alot more banking politics which kind of went over my head at times but it was still a great read.

Listened to this Audible book on a car trip from Seattle to Los Angeles and back for Thanksgiving 2016. Enjoyed Scott Brick's narration very much. Robert Ludlum's writing is somewhat long winded, but still fun.

Forgot I read this years ago!

2/5 for the language. Just dreadful. I thought the ending was a big letdown and somewhat anti-climatic.

1/5 for audiobook narrator. I couldn't stand the guy's horrendously bland delivery.

The fact I finished this book is astounding.

4 star??? Really?? The movies might have warranted that score due to Damon's personification of Bourne and well done action sequences. But the plot was shallow and the narrative boring without the visible action. I got about 1/3 of the way thru the audiobook and had enough.

DID NOT FINISH

I thought that this book series would appeal to me since I enjoy a good spy story wrapped in mystery with plenty of baddies and possible explosions. Of course, I have seen the movies and I was forewarned that the book is very different from the movie.
But I really disliked it. Ludlum treats women like objects. Despite Marie's high education, she is ditsy and ready to abandon everything she has built to follow Bourne around like a love-sick puppy.
I didn't make it much farther than Paris.

This is another reread from my childhood. At the time, I found it exciting and exotic. Now, I still thought the pace was great and the narrative really moved, but the characters are thin, the dialogue is not terribly realistic, and the insertion of French sentences (which seemed cool 40 years ago) seemed forced. There is a lot of italicized emphasis on how everything is madness .

I will say the character of Carlos is fun. Powerful, all knowing, but not quite perfect.

This book was very exciting and had me turning pages at break neck speeds. That being said it is a little ridiculous that it took 700 pages to tell this story.
