I can’t get enough of this series! I’ve really been enjoying rom/coms lately as a break from the chaos of life and Emma St. Clair provides the perfect escape with her hilarious narrative, laugh out loud scenes, adorable animal insertions and characters that are multi-layered, relatable and lovable.

I thoroughly loved Harper and Chase’s story. I identified so well with Harper on some levels and loved that this was not just a funny romance, but also a journey of self discovery for Harper. The author did a fantastic job of portraying a neurotypical personality and presenting this character as someone who isn’t flawed, but rather, just different.

Chase reminds me so much of my husband; I fell HARD for his character. For their friendship, their struggles, their funny quirks, their flirting and banter. This story presented more seriously than the others I’ve read and I was totally ok with that! Loved it for all its different aspects and characters!

Content: alcohol consumption, some minor innuendoes

Harper was neurodivergent which is fine I know plenty of people who are including myself. Everyone struggles with different things I couldn't relate but still fine. What mostly bothered me throughout the book was that she's terrified of getting a diagnosis because she doesn't want to be her diagnosis however all of her descriptions are her diagnosis.. her personality is already her diagnosis without saying so. She has no hobbies or interests really. She didn't feel like a fully fleshed out personality because it was only about what she struggles with and how she copes with said issues. And then there were little issues thrown in randomly that felt like found online. Neurodivergent people struggle with eye contact. She never mentioned it in her many internal monologues but all of a sudden near the end of the book Chase mentions it in his inner monologue. It felt like it was found out later and just stuffed in. I usually adore Emma's books but this wasn't it for me.

If we really love people, we shouldn't be hiding any aspect of who we are. Part of love is being willing to tell the truth- in all areas.
"Friends to lovers" isn't my favorite trope, but if it's written right I might just like it and Emma St. Clair was able to make me feel good.

Harper and her story about her trying to find out why she is the way she is was understandable but I feel like it was kind of rushed and missed a few steps here and there (unless I missed something, maybe from other books).
Chase, on the other hand, was a well-written character, his love for Harper is obvious and he would do anything for her.
I enjoyed the second part of the book more - especially the scenes with the goat and their camping trip for work. (The tent scene was cool
