My main problem with graphic novels: they're always, always too short. You go into them thinking "This book is relatively thick; it must have a lot of story in it!" But then you finish the book in under a day, possibly under an hour, and you think to yourself, "Darn. I still want more!"

Such is the case with Wire and Nerve, Volume 1. That said, the story is good. I enjoy Iko; I enjoy the general plotline; I like how Meyer balanced everything that's going on both on Lunar and on Earth. The villain isn't amazing, but I can understand his motives and he comes off as a legitimate threat. Also, I keep looking for some kind of agenda- I don't know why, but I always expect graphic novels to have an agenda- but if there is one, I haven't found it yet.

Art-wise, I'm not crazy about the style, but it's not bad. Part of the problem is that very few of the characters match up with how I picture them (google "Laura Hollingsworth Lunar Chronicles" for fanart that almost perfectly matches my mental pictures) and so that's bugging me slightly. Still, it could be worse.

Oh, and I'm not buying the romantic tension . . . but maybe I just haven't watched enough net dramas.

Talk about a one-sitting read.

This marvellous combination of our favourite characters of The Lunar Chronicles and comics just made my day!

Told from Iko's perspective it is full of drama, humour and of course romance. With all the characters from the previous book this comic just picked up on the epic adventure where we left them at the end of the series. The transition was pretty successful.

I can't wait for the next one!

I absolutely loved jumping back into the world of the Lunar Chronicles! Iko has always been one of my favorite characters, so I think it's fitting she is getting the spotlight she deserves. There is something completely different about seeing the characters drawn out after creating my own image of them in my head for so many books, but I think the artist did a really great job on each character. Marissa Meyer is such an amazing storyteller, and I love the spin she has taken.

Wires and Nerves takes the reader back and forth from Earth and Luna, and we get to see all of our favorite people. The story line is also very exciting. Marissa Meyer has never strayed away from the dangerous or putting her characters in life threatening situations. I'm so excited to see where the second volume goes!

I love The Lunar Chronicles so, so much. When I read Winter, I wasn’t ready for the series to end. Luckily, we had Stars Above. And now we have Wires and Nerve, the new spin-off graphic novel series. It was a quick read, and I really enjoyed it. I need Volume 2 asap.

I love love love the art of Wires and Nerve. It has a specific, muted colour scheme of different shades of gray-blue. I actually think it suits the art very well. The style is quirky and cute, with some more sinister drawings for the rogue Lunar operatives. I like how the characters are depicted. I think the artists did a great job.

As for the story, I really liked it! I loved getting to follow Iko around and get to know her more. We often saw her as the comedic relief, but here her character is allowed more depth. I am, however, unsure about the love interested. We’ll see how that goes in the next volume.

It was great to see the group again, and you can clearly see how they’ve matured since we last saw them. I also still ship all the ships, and feel all the feels. We get some sweet moments, and they made me so happy. I can’t wait to see more of our favourite couples. I seriously love all the couples in The Lunar Chronicles.

Wires and Nerve is a lovely spin-off graphic novel of The Lunar Chronicles. Iko is a great character, and I love that we get to learn more about her. We get to see all our beloved characters, and it was awesome. I’m not sure how I feel about Iko’s love interest, though. The story ended on a cliffhanger, so I’m really excited for Volume 2 which is out January 2018. I also really loved the art.

4.5 stars!

I loved the story of this and I adored getting to see all the characters again, it brought back some amazing memories of when I first read the series and fell in love with it! Iko was one of my favourite characters and I am so glad she gets her own series, she is so interesting and I hope as this series continues she gets some recognition!

The only problem I had with this was the art style, I really enjoyed it mostly but there were a few illustrations that seemed off. Like Wolf, I don't remember him being described like that and it really isn't how I pictured him in the slightest, it was a bit weird. Other than though I really loved it.

I definitely recommend this to all Lunar Chronicles fans!

I absolutely adored this!! I feel like the graphic novel format works really well for this format and I liked this story more than some of the original four I think.

Iko was one of my favourite characters from the original series so it was great to see her as the main character.

I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment!

I cannot wait for volume 2!!!!
adventurous

What a fun return to the Lunar Chronicles universe. I’ve had this graphic novel for a while but haven’t read it until now, almost as if I knew I was going to need it one day. Gotta get my hands on volume 2 and maybe do a Lunar Chronicles reread while I’m at it.
