This is terrible. There are so many crimes going on and the writing is terrible.

This book was a little blah for me. The characters annoyed me a bit and it felt both like it dragged as well as rushing through the story. I did appreciate that it actually had an ending (seems to be rare for series books these days) but I definitely won't be continuing to the next book.

DNF. I didn't read much of this, but I was immediately turned off. Guy meets girl at a setup dinner with a group of friends. Has a nice, but not terribly long or in-depth convo with the girl and leaves his card. Later that evening, he's pondering if he should tell her these BIG ISSUE things he's thinking about. It's ridiculous.

Didn't care for.
To 'YA' for me.
I couldn't get into it. Hard to connect to the characters.
Oddly written. Jumpy. Very Jumpy.
No Adult Romance.
This is NOT an Adult book. It IS Young Adult.

A very interesting debut novel with amazing characters and an even more amazing plot! Pulling crime and paranormal together and creating something genius. Great job! Great read!

Good read

This book was very good. Kept jumping around but it was pretty good. Kind of like a paranormal mystery. If you like a little bit of telepathy and mystery this is the book for you.

It was OK but nothing special. Glad it was a freebie. Probably won't read the rest of the series

I'm giving up on this one. The idea behind the story is really interesting, but the execution is a mess. It's in desperate need of an edit, not just copy editing but structural editing too. The main characters/romantic pairing were flirting, and connecting on deep levels within moments of meeting. (Too fast for the reader to even follow it, let along connect with it.) The multiple POVs (1st and 3rd) are distracting. I always hate present tense narratives. But mainly it just jumps around and doesn't flow smoothly. For example, three times already something has been said to the detective that has absolutely no connection to the case he's working and he's put it together. For example, a woman from the police department is kidnapped. Several days later he's told that Gypsy was hit by a car and he thanks the person for telling him since he has so little else to go on in his investigation. Nothing in the exchange suggested the two were connected and the person telling him said nothing about the missing woman (no indication that she even knows about it). I'm not going to subject myself to another hundred pages of it, finish annoyed and end up posting a scathing negative review. I'll just concede defeat now.

Note: this was sent to me for an honest review.

I really wanted to like this book more. I liked the plot- Gypsy is a bit of a psychic (I think at one point she refers to herself as a bit of an empath) who is walking home after meeting with friends (and a hot new man, Connor Reardon) and finds herself interrupting a kidnapping. She wakes in the hospital, barely alive and wanting to find the kidnapper to save the woman and also to exact revenge for almost killing her. Gypsy uses her connection to her teenage niece to get Connor (who is a detective) to tell him the details and catch this person. Connor has some secrets and it gets out that this kidnapping victim worked for the police station and has a list of all the dirty cops. So there are a lot of twists and drama in finding the kidnapper, who is good/bad, who can be trusted. The thing I didn't like was how Gypsy used her niece- she shared her experience of being almost murdered with her niece, which was a lot for her to handle. She blatantly skips over seeing her niece's thoughts about being sad and lonely as Gypsy becomes hell bent on revenge. I may read more of these books, but it's not high on my reading list.

Once you get past the need to get a box of red pens and edit the crap out of it, it's an OK read (with some plot flaws).
