If I wasn’t familiar with the case, I would have liked it more, since it takes away the mystery of what’s about to happen in the case. Audrey Rose felt like a modern girl from our time dropped into 19th century, at some moments. The feminism in the book felt lazy, and I found the theme of “I can be both strong and beautiful” repetitive. Audrey Rose had her “not like other girls” moments, but I still liked her overall. There are historically and scientifically inaccurate parts in the book, but it didn’t impact my enjoyment much. The plot twists didn’t shock me, but the book was entertaining and fun to read, nonetheless!

A book that was gorgeous and blood thirsty, I really enjoyed this novel even if it took me a while to get through. Thank you to Nicole for making me read it and having patience with me while I worked through it.

The mystery of it was good, but the details were too gross. I had to skim over them. I'm glad there was a solution to the ending and a person was Jack the Ripper instead of not picking anyone.
