I REALLY wanted to give this book 5 stars. The storyline was awesome but the writing made me annoyed and caused me to skip over pages at a time. There was an abundance of one word sentences and incomplete sentences that messed this book up for me. For example instead of saying "I'll never be enough for you" he would have the thought in his head and only "not enough" would come out of his mouth. The way this book was written has made me not want to read any more books by this author.

I thought this was going to be a solid 4⭐️ read, but the last 25% went so over the top that I found myself rolling my eyes multiple times. Don’t get me wrong, the author’s writing style is gorgeous and almost feels like poetry (and that cover, my god). I also really enjoyed the initial set up and the whole good girl / bad boy interactions between Eden and Trent. However, I struggled with a few things:
1. The dialogue. I’m sorry, but who talks that dramatically and in constant metaphors? The style of writing worked for describing thoughts and settings, but for dialogue it felt very unrealistic. These two are to be around 30 years old, but they read like angsty teenagers.
2. The kid. I know I sound like an ass, but I found Gage to be way too hyperactive and annoying for my tastes. I’m also not a kid person, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
3. The hero’s trauma honestly got soooo redundant by the end. I’m at a point in my life where I don’t have as much patience for tortured heroes who allow their trauma to rule their ENTIRE lives and make barely any effort to work on moving past said trauma. Trent was in his 30s and had a child, so it felt immature for him to not get a damn therapist. Heck, no one around him even suggested that “hey, maybe you should go talk to someone rather than being ready to pound your fists into a wall or some random guy’s face when your anger spikes”.

Great read
I really loved the storyline and especially how it all came together. I gave 4 stars for the writing... A lot of half sentences and repetition, I skimmed thru a lot of that. But its a great story!

Not my favorite writing style and it was a lot longer than need be for the story
This one was definitely a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Lots of twists and turns that were completely unexpected, and some steamy scenes between Eden and Trent.
I will admit, it took me a while to get into and felt very slow paced, until about 50% in. Then the story REALLY picked up around 80% in. Once I reached that point, I knew I had to finish the book to have some answers.
Overall, it was a good book. I loved the characters, especially Gage! Definitely the cutest 5-year old! I’m tempted to read the rest of the series because I’m curious to read Jud’s and Logan’s stories.

This story was amazing
4 ⭐️s!
Single dad, enemies to lovers, teacher and bad boy romance. This book really had all the golden tropes in my book. I’m such a sucker for a single dad romance, especially because Gage was the stinking cutest!
The only reason this book did not get 5 stars because I struggled with the writing a bit. I’m not sure if it’s just something I’m going to have to get used to as I read the series or what but I just found it very choppy and unfinished I guess.
Overall though, Trent and Eden had me full on swooning because that bad boy fell hard and fast for the goody Sunday school, kindergarten teacher. I loved every minute of it.
