Book Title: Learn Your Lesson Author: Kandi Steiner
Series: Kings of The Ice #3
Star Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Steam Rating:🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
This book was everything I hoped it would be and more! I know how Kandi does it but every book just gets even more amazing!
What happens when the single dad, NHL goalie starts catching feelings for his daughter’s teacher turned nanny?
I had so much fun reading this one! I’ve been dying for Daddy Ps books since the beginning and it exceeded my expectations!
I absolutely loved Chloe! When she starts teaching Wills daughter, she never expected to become the nanny he desperately needed but she was the perfect pimento help him out.
The chemistry between was through the roof! Will was determined not to overstep boundaries but when they spend every day together, almost all day and night, the feelings become harder to resist. And when they finally combust! 🥵 I think my kindle damn near melted with the heat between them.
Both Will and Chloe had their own issues and reasons for not wanting relationships but I loved their journey to discovering that what they thought they wanted/needed wasn’t really true.
I loved that Chloe brought lightness and fun and happiness into Will & Ava’s lives, honestly the father/daughter duo were two peas in a pod, permanent scowls, no real happy moments. But Chloe brought so much happiness into their lives that and it was so beautiful to see them both happier and enjoying life.
I’m so happy Chloe, Will and Ava now have the perfect happily ever after. They are the cutest little family! I loved every single moment of this book and everyone needs to read it!
Will Perry was in need of a nanny and now! What he was not expecting was to find a nanny in his daughters teacher. He needed her much more then she needed him. The two cannot keep their chemistry at bay before they are caving to their wants, but Will soon learns that she is not very experienced and in need if help, and he is more then happy to oblige with two rules. No Kissing, and no falling in love. Can't be hard right?
It is taking me a while to getting used to Kandi's structures, her endings seem to feel a little drawn out. Their problem when it hit was not for me. But this was by far the spiciest of all the Kandi books I have read. And oh my lord was I sweating. It was cute as all his small acts if kindness came to front and how they slowly, while trying to resist, fell in love.
I did not think I was going to like the FMC as much as I did, I thought I was going to find her annoying, but she was so fun. I wanted to be her best friend.

Okay Kandi Steiner…I’m listening!
Kandi saved me after I could feel a massive book hangover coming on. I knew I needed something easy and addictive to read, and I picked this book up on a whim after remembering it from social media. The moment I started reading the first page, the hero was right there, described as a grumpy single dad. Grumpy, single dads are my kryptonite! Pair that with intelligent writing, and I’m a goner.
The hero, Will, is a hockey goalie whose wife died when his daughter Ava was two months old. Will, and consequently his daughter Ava, struggle to find happiness and peace in their lives and are very guarded and closed off. Will has had a hard time finding a suitable nanny for Ava, when Chloe, the heroine, enters the picture. Kindergarten teacher by day, and sewing cat lady at night, Chloe saves Will’s ass by offering to care for Ava while he’s on the rink, and after things working out well, they agree to a nannying arrangement. Chloe is just what they need- the bright sunshine to their gloomy clouds.
I want to help readers choose the right book for them, and so I will say that this book has a trope that some don’t love - the dead wife trope. I think I can understand the reasons why people struggle with this particular trope, but as a reader who needs angst in books (or I’m gonna be bored as hell), this aspect of the story really worked for me as it added emotional flavor and depth. I loved how Chloe encouraged Will and Ava not to forget the important part in their lives that she (Jenny) still plays, and how she encouraged them not to forget her.
Let’s not forget one of my favorite parts of the story - the spice. Sweet father of hockey romances, the spice was so good. The tension in that popsicle scene had me on the edge of my seat! 🧊🥶🔥🥵
Also, Chef Patel was the bomb 💣🤣👏🏻!
I don’t even like hockey romances, and this book actually had quite a bit of hockey in it. I’m sure I’m going to get “I told you so” shit from my friends for reading this, but I don’t care. Learn Your Lesson had it all - a great mix of sports, spice, character development, and romance. This is the single dad romance that I will recommend to the right reader over and over again now.

Kandi books always hit and this one was no different!!
I've been rooting for Daddy P's HEA since book one and Chloe was the PERFECT match for him. It gave opposites attract in the best way! Plus it was so sweet how Ava came out of her shell with Chloe in her life! Everything about this book was sweet and spicy and I couldn't get enough!!

I was super excited for this third book in the kings of the ice series and it was definitely cute but could have been shorter! I loved Ava, her transformation, and Will’s relationship with her but didn’t care for Will and Chloe’s insta lust to FWB to all of a sudden engaged lmao. Loved to see past characters and meet new ones. Started to get bored towards the end and skimmed a bit, but I was engaged for the first 80% of the book or so, so I would for sure give this a 3 ⭐️ rating!

Liked the first half but kinda dropped a bit towards the end
